Against a background of news from the first round of the World Cup happening in South Africa, this weekend saw Borderline’s Mike Marsden put on an early season warm up race on the open Welsh hillside of Moelfre. Not normally a venue known for dry races, it was difficult not to draw parallels to the weather in South Africa, with blue skies, dust and a hot sun. Draft BC Trails Strategy - Part 2 - perspectives f Draft BC Trails Strategy - Part 2 - perspectives from the trail
Brought to you by Devinci Bikes

Written by Ryan Kuhn

Trail builders across British Columbia are picking up shovels and saws at a breakneck pace these days, which means greater opportunity for mountain bikers of all disciplines. However, the approach to where and how to develop trails diverges greatly. There are also more illegal mountain bike trails with significant stunt (“technical trail features” or TTFs) and jump features than ever before, pushing the sport to new heights, literally. However, the risk associated with these trails is significant to the builders, riders and those responsible for managing public lands.

It's hard to believe that filming for New World Disorder 10 is already underway. Freeride's Brad McGregor teamed up with Darren Berrecloth for the first shoot of the season in Utah and the Claw did not disappoint. He is charging! Cam Zink is recovering from knee surgery but drove over from Reno to build some lines for filming later on this season. He even busted out his bike for a few test rides and his knee held up good. Here's a look at what the boys got up to in the desert.

Fox - "Dressed to the nines" Fox - "Dressed to the nines"
Nine is, without doubt, the most troublesome number in etymology. Phrases of uncertain parentage that include 'nine' are 'cloud nine' and the infamous 'whole nine yards'. To those we can add 'dressed to the nines'.

The Devil makes work for idle hands, therefore Fox have been busy at it, working their fingers to the bone to keep the devil off their back and these fine threads on yours. "Dressed to the nines" it is...

BlackBoxLabs BlackBoxLabs
Every year about this time, when the sun is out and the trails are fresh, my friends and I are always thinking about how to win the day? Is it shuttles? Dirt jumping? A bit of trail building? What it really comes down to is “ How do we make all of our friends jealous of the life decisions we made?” We did, however, decide to ride our bikes for a living. So when it came time to put together a creative and diverse group of athletes for the BlackBoxLabs project we took “winning” everyday into account. It’s funny to say this word and not think racing or competition, but when you delve into the lifestyle that these characters lead you realize that they do indeed win!
