Yeah, best in 2020 imho ! Smile
  • 21 0
That should have been the first and last video!
  • 19 0
 yup, Ibis got robbed
  • 21 0
For real. Just came here to watch that Ibis do the job again ????
  • 17 2
I bet $100 that guy watches more BKXC than he actually rides
  • 2 0
Can I get the link to said video?
  • 64 1
Face / Rock guy still gets the win.
  • 7 1
That drop is in Fruit Heights and the little trail system there is called Fruit Loops.

Would have loved to see that clip of the dude high siding while doing the freeride flicks/ Canadian kick outs.
  • 11 0
He was way too unphased for someone who was an inch away from facial reconstruction surgery. Wear that full face everyone.
  • 2 0
@friendlyfoe: or don’t take headers into rocks?
  • 9 0
Doesn't take that. I washed out, bike shot out to the left and slingshotted my upper half to the ground on the right. The right side of my head/face went right into a rock bigger then that. Large dent and gouge in helmet on the temple. Large knot behind my ear, and missed the corner of my eye by mm's. Over a year and a half removed and I still have nerve damage in my face. Most days the right side of my face feels like it got shot up with novocaine. Those are the better days. The only other pads I wear are knee pads, but I always wear a full face after that one. I had ridden that trail the very first day I ever road a mountain bike, and it took almost 6 months to ride it again after that.

Safety top 10

@bdub5696: Big Yikes. I hope u recover more...
  • 1 0
@DirtbagMatt: thanks for that. At this point you wouldn’t know it happened by looking at me, only a small scar at the corner of my eye. Now it mostly just serves as a reminder that I don’t have to trying something “crazy” for scary shit to happen.

Cheers to making the opening twice this year. What an accomplishment ????????
  • 4 0
oops, emoticons got a bit out of control here
  • 29 0
 Always believed in you.
  • 4 0
 No nomination speech?

“I would like to thank...”
  • 54 0
@PocoBoho: oh right. It was such a surprise...

I didn’t came prepared but I guess I’d like to “thank” my friends for this stupid idea - even though my lack of skills is to blame -, my family for driving me all the way to the hospital and the medical staff, who made all this possible... But most importantly, thanks to the guy who had randomly put a GoPro next to the jump!

possibly best opener ever quick, clear and the carnage is out of sight
  • 27 2
Watching these every Friday this year I came to a conclusion. Close to half these people should keep their bike on the ground, the other half should not have touched a bike to begin with.
  • 10 1
Most crashes on Friday fails can bit fixed with more speed! "speed is your friend"
  • 24 0
6:41 - nothing makes the fall worse then getting both the front and rear tire straight to the face after you've already knocked the wind out of yourself. Cheers to 2021 - be safe out there guys.
  • 6 0
 That was actually halarious
  • 1 0
@Boxmtb: i rewatched it three times
  • 1 0
 @LesZedCB: I watched it like 6.
  • 1 0
My favorite fail of all time! Hilarious!
  • 21 0
Now I see why everyone here has problems with creaking fork crowns....
  • 18 0
Not a "kurwa" to be had - how can that be?
  • 9 0
I was amazed at the lack of kurwa. I thought it was the buzzword of 2020.
  • 12 0
@commental: They really threw us a kurwball.
  • 18 0
RIP 2020...and everyone who died in this video.
  • 1 0
Man, more like all fails videos... PBFF#95 stood out for me, the orange scorpion. www.pinkbike.com/news/video-friday-fails-95.html @2:03

He ded.
  • 14 0
Front flip guy managed to end it on a high note. Maybe a good sign for 2021. Stay safe out there but keep sending it, everyone.
  • 14 0
7:26 is pure gold. The combination of Abba, the lowside, the shirt and the chain made my Christmas!
  • 6 0
One of my favorites! The leather jacket and chain! This one and the (missing) Ibis doing the job are the two funniest of 2020!
  • 14 1
Part of me wants to quit biking, the other part is pleasantly surprised how many of these guys walk away from these crashes
  • 12 2
1:55 Dude totally stacks into sharp rocks with his head and shoulder, and the imbecile filming has the nerve to ask him twice in 3 seconds if he is ok, to which he isnt responding. From here i can tell he wasnt "ok". Asking someone who is injured if they are injured isnt helpful, its just as if your the important person and you need them to tell you if they are ok.
  • 17 0
Actually I was kind of okay. Just a couple of bruises in the end, but yeah, it took a little bit of time to make sure.
  • 2 0
@hayden19: glad you ended up alright. i'm sure it didnt feel alright at the moment!
  • 10 0
3:40. Crash doing something stupid and then walk away like you own the trail.
  • 1 0
Yeah,he walks the walk like a boss
  • 1 0
came here to make sure someone noted that
  • 7 0
If you're dressed like you're going to spin class, you're gonna crash and burn every time!

The majority of these are people hitting jumps that are way outside their abilities. Jumping technique isn't easy, start very small and get very safe. I know hitting a big jump is a sweet accomplishment, but mountain biking is about the journey of progression and not the result. You need to get a feeling for the speed and the angle of the lip and that just takes time. Start embracing the journey and don't just try to do what you see everybody else doing. I started hitting small jumps as an eight year old and had no clue what I was doing, but the risk was small and I could learn from my mistakes. I'm 21 now and feel comfortable hitting Dirt Merchant, but sometimes it happens: you case, you go deep, you get bucked or land back wheel heavy - but experience gives you reflexes to bail out, which you don't get from just hitting something and breaking a few bones. Look at the frontflip guy, he's doing something way more difficult than the other guys, but gets out of it so well.

I watch these before every ride, sometimes I stop mid-ride and enjoy. 1:27 Wile E. Coyote still the best of the year!
  • 2 0
This. Loved it first time I saw and loved it again today.
  • 2 0
"Wile E. Coyote" Had me laughing out loud once I rewatched it!
  • 3 0
The biggest fail here is when I look at this video and see all the amazing trails people are riding all over the world knowing my local government has no idea what mountain biking is despite having amazing geographical features, scenery and being a very popular tourist destination, so the trail work is done by few volunteers without any access to motorized equipment.

Fails for Christmas means we all win! I think 2020 fail videos proved without a doubt that backpack size is directly correlated to pending fail probability, trailside rocks have real gravitational pull, and evil trees actually move directly into the paths of oncoming riders like linebackers plugging a gap. For me, double tail whip to face plant guy wins the best of 2020 prize. Thanks for sending it and more importantly, thanks for filming all the good times and bad!
  • 4 0
best FF of the year! thanks to all who contributed-we salute your bravery if not your skill. 2021 will be a big improvement over 2020 (fingers crossed).
  • 6 0
That rock to the face bail still freaks me out everytime I see it
  • 5 0
I just realized Christmas comes every Friday...
  • 7 2
Cheers to all us mtbrs who wreck ourselves and keep on getting up.
  • 6 1
I cant believe the how many ride without knee pads.
  • 4 0
Padless with full face endurbro helmets?!
  • 4 0
Watching this while listening to “You’re a mean one, Mr. Grinch” is pretty fitting.
  • 2 1
into the rock... fook me, that was horrific. the trail looked awesome and he was ripping it until that compression caught him off balance. wonder if he grabbed a bit of front brake? i'm guessing he broke face bones on that one. terrifying.

After the 2020 bike boom...surprised there aren't more trek marlins up in this mix
  • 5 0
OBEY Bro tries to make up for it with the tough guy walk at 3:43
  • 4 0
This content is horrific. Just think of all the injuries and broken bikes. I'm gonna watch it again.
  • 3 0
Safety first! Always park an excavator by the landing to stop you in case you mess up the jump
  • 1 0
I noticed that same thing. Sketchy place to leave the mini-ex.
  • 4 0
Many clavicles were harmed in the making of this video
  • 4 0
 And trees!!
  • 3 3
Can we get more high caliber fails? Even just that front flip fail towards the end was pretty sick.

It gets old watching the lowest common denominator wreck over and over either doing shit they clearly shouldn’t be or riding like they’ve never jumped / dropped / ridden before lmao.
  • 16 0
Well get to work, We are waiting
  • 4 0
how many of these people are dead?
  • 3 0
2020 fails brought to you by not enough speed or too much rebound
  • 3 0
People on 'ludes shouldn't jump their bike.
  • 2 0
You missed the best of 2020 where the first guy misses the gap and gets rogered by the one who comes right behind him.
  • 4 0
 Christ is Risen!!

Props to the homie hucking the front flip! That camera view/angle looked awesome
