Question - I'm totally in the dark regarding racing so pardon my ignorance (I could probably end the comment right there considering what Im about to ask) - I saw a few opportunities where a couple turns and berms lined up perfectly to hop over the tape and land right back on the track. See around 3:09-3:11 theres a turn that goes to the right but the left side where the tape is had a small lip and lined up perfectly to just hop over and land into the turns transition - is it illegal to hop over the tape?
@NYShred: yes, you have to stay between the tape. If you leave the track through the tape you have to reenter in the same place that you left the track or its a dq. Hope that helps
Thanks for clearing that up for me guys. Although can't say it wouldn't make racing even more exciting than it already is if they did allow that type of shenanigans though. haha
@NYShred: Not sure about these responses, if you go through the tape then yes, you must re-enter the course at the same point you left the track at, but who is there to judge wether you went off course by jumping right over a small corner or section of the tape? Who knows...
@deadmeat25: The corner would have a pole, you can not miss or cut any poles.
The fans would see it, maybe a marshal. But what about honour and dignity. Could you honestly feel good with your win knowing you cheated and cut course?
The Hollywood Drop in Leogang, I am quite sure it was Bernard Kerr who went wide and jumped the tape on that drop, he still landed on course between tape but went over a tight section of tape, and he was DSQ for that so yeah jumping tape is illegal.
@NYShred: the real answer is there's no way you'd ever consider jumping between those two.. Raced there last week for the masters and that berm is pretty high and the landing would be almost dead flat ????
@WolfStoneD: Don't bother replying to this deadmeat guy, if you check his usual comments you will see it's only aggressive/idiotic/angry comments and insults. @Pinkbike please warn or ban @deadmeat25
Jesus, that's a proper track from start until the very finish. Kinda think someone is gonna eat it big on that finish line jump, seems easy to way over jump it and hit the berm at 90 degrees. Should make for some good watching!
Is it any shorter than previous years? Maybe it is but unless it's crazy short the racers have the ability to land the bike where they want to. We may get to witness some big ol scrubs, who doesn't like a scrub?
Really looking forward to this race. Track has it all, flow, jumps, trees, rocks, roots, highspeed, low speed, off camber, big final jump into tight right hander.
Curious how Loris handles it coming off his podium at Leogang.
@ismasan: Yeah, I recall it was at one of the first EWS races. The course wasn't taped everywhere so he was a bit more creative with his line choice than the EWS organizers were willing to approve. I think he also took an uplift where he was supposed to ride up between stages, but I'm not sure whether that also qualifies as a French line.
@mcozzy: I used Google Home to cast directly from the phone to the TV, but yes it's stupid, it would be a ton better to put it on youtube or on their app/channel.
Man I hope we get a wildcard win. I'd absolutely lose my sh*t if Brook. Brendog, SikMik... literally anyone different (but preferably one of those three,) took the win this weekend.
@arphia: it was fun in 2013 .. 2014 .. ? but now, all he s doing is describing what he rides ... we can see it ourself on screen its repetitive... ! please negprop me
@RedBurn: When these are perhaps some of the most watched videos that Redbull releases, wherein typically nobody makes the same complaint, do you think that perhaps the problem is yours and not theirs?
It's the track commentary. Not really commentary without words mate. There are loads of other track previews online without the commentary. To be honest most people don't care about the run it's the commentary that makes people tune in!
The fans would see it, maybe a marshal. But what about honour and dignity. Could you honestly feel good with your win knowing you cheated and cut course?
Not sure how that makes me a f*cktard.
Amazing preview as always.... 180BPM talking normally, no idea how you pull that off each week!
my comment about my wife has already been removed! Where is the sense of humour! :-(
Also "The french line" was named after him, I've read.
"please negprop me" Ah, I see that you agree.
