Erice Van Leuven has announced on social media that she is joining the Monster Army athlete development program.

After an incredible first season of international racing Erice Van Leuven picked up multiple first-place and podium finishes across Downhill and Enduro World Cups. Erice was also the winner of the 2023 Downhill World Championships in Fort William and will compete in her final Junior season with the rainbow stripes.

The Monster Army is a "athlete development program that supports athletes ages 13-21 in motocross, bmx, mountain bike, skate, surf, snow, and ski." Monster says athletes are "evaluated and invited into the program" with "the opportunity to claim cash awards through the Paid 2 Podium Program."

 I see this team everywhere! They have monster flat-brim hats, worn at eyebrow level, usually have a backpack on with the shoulder straps at full extension, baggy pants, carry a large disposable soda cup with soda (?) but no ice in it, and seem to congregate under bridges (team camp maybe)? They usually walk everywhere, probably to build aerobic base.
Sometimes they ride janky walmart bikes for training!

 I hope she returns to her roots someday and gets back on Manitou - kick ass at the races, Erice!

 I'll be ready when she does. She was great to work with and pushed the development of suspension tunes for light and fast.

 Team name aside... Surprised Monster sells so well, artificial pineapple slushie is such an odd flavor to go for.

 Pretty sure it's the national drink in Australia.
Don't know about NZ, but they love that crazy super sugar/super caffeine/weird flavor crap down under!

In the US it seems to be preferred by the blue collar work force.I see the construction guys stocking up every AM at the gas stations before going to battle.

 @bikebasher: Ah.

Not saying much, but at least it's better than Rock Star? A can full to the top with artificial sweetener, with just a splash of cough medicine.
