Am I the only one laughing at the scream at the end of 0:47?
  • 3 0
I want to up vote but you are at 69

@MrDiamondDave: only upvote if we can get 351 more upvotes queued.
  • 2 1
@OpeSorryAbootThat: too late, someone already pushed it to 71
  • 1 0
@NorCalNomad: a system of alternate voting of up & down should be applied to keep the Holy number.

Remember kids make sure you do at least 2 of these 3 things when you do a jump or drop
1. Go really slow
2. Turn your bars as soon as you land
3. Lean all the way back

every time i watch these videos, i wonder how someone can do such a bad job. then every time i crash and i am glad i didn't have a camera on me to document the embarrassment!
  • 9 0
I'm the opposite. I never have my gopro on during the crashes and it infuriates me!
  • 1 0
@heffernw: Recently recorded one of my worst offs in a while. Footage was worthless.

(I was luckily uninjured)
  • 26 0
 And the trees win.
  • 14 0
The unexpected tree limb to the head was pretty damn funny. I don't know how many of those I've barely dodged.
  • 11 0
@mark2203: Many of the trails around Austin, Texas were height-cleared by my 6'6" body. The numerous closed head injuries may explain a lot of my behavior.
  • 47 0
@mark2203: Ive been knocked off my bike a few times by low branches/fallen branches .

Also had a tree jump out in front of me after landing a drop. Hit it so hard sheered off my brake lines and shift cables. I dodged to the side a bit but leg took a massive hit. Bruised from groin to knee so bad that i had a pool of blood under the skin that had to grow out over several months.

Then met this amazing Mt. bike woman with the matching bruise on other leg. Figured it was a sign so i married her.

They always do... Trees 10, riders 0
  • 3 0
 @fabwizard: Duncan? Is that you?
  • 6 0
 @fabwizard: That's beautiful man, it's like....destiny!
  • 1 0
 @mark2203: You likely never will.
  • 2 0
@helldriven1: And yet we still keep trying.
  • 8 0
I pine for these fails, the tree ones are the most poplar I rekon.
  • 1 0
 @fraserw: not Duncan
  • 3 0
 @Curse-of-the-foot-long-sub: It's oak-ay I feel your pine. Life's a beech.
  • 17 0
Look at the rider’s reaction on the opening shot after he wrecks. Seems pretty clear he not only sent the bike to flat but also his balls to tire.
  • 65 0
Looking at how you are going to justify spending money on a bike and not that vasectomy? May I introduce to you the new freeride move called "huck to sterility"
  • 1 0
Lol. I didn't notice how bad that was until reading this and going back for a rewatch. Yep, pulverized.
  • 6 0
 @igottaride: wishes he got a 26"er
  • 1 0
You can see the wheel flex as he hits it.
  • 3 0
Barrel Trail in St. George, UT. Wrecks fools weekly
  • 2 0
@tbmaddux My first thought was "Holy Ball Crushing Huck to Flat Batman".... Ouch.
The face plant at 0:33 was pretty nasty too.
The one I can't figure out is at 2:43 where the guy rides off the trail and just keeps going straight into the tree.
  • 19 0
A Salute to the Dead Sailors!
  • 14 0
 may they rest in pieces
  • 17 0
Isn't 3:12 the same gap where a dude fell right onto the tracks and almost died some time ago?
  • 15 0
@lagranger: OMG so lucky to be alive.
  • 31 0
I'd say the vid today had the best case scenario for crashing on that gap.
  • 5 0
@lagranger: holly sh*t.. that is insane... why would anyone wanna do that??? Looks like it is the same jump
  • 2 0
Looks like the run up was cleaned up a bit after Lagranger's posted video. Either way, damn...
  • 14 0
Yup. This is what it's supposed to look like when ridden by a pro: youtu.be/7msaSY1T5tw?t=1512
  • 9 0
@lagranger: ye Gods that's horrific. Felt a bit ill watching that.
  • 3 0
@lagranger: Almost had to do a vom after watching that. Grim.
  • 14 0
@lagranger: Man, you need to put a warning on your post. Most of us have seen that video, but it's not something you just click on without a warning. It's traumatizing.
  • 8 0
 @big-red: I’m with the dog
  • 4 0
@lagranger: hoooooly f*ck. way too much consequence for one jump for me
  • 2 0
@lagranger: oh god that's chilling. like, hairs standing up on the back of my neck, have bad dreams that wake me up from that feeling of falling toward imminent death. So glad to hear that guy survived.
  • 7 0
different perspective of that fatal jump
www.instagram.com/p/B-y1BjQHL5a/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
BTW he failed cos he hit a rock with pedal just b4 take off
  • 1 0
@msalcher: yep - compared to others (and the worst I've seen linked above) his crash seemed like falling into a pile of down pillows
  • 1 0
@ddbiked: I saw that clip too and was wondering what happened.
  • 1 0
@big-red: Yoann is just so f-in bad ass. :o
  • 3 0
@lagranger: Jesus, that guy wasn't even close to fast enough. Frown Frown
  • 2 0
@ddbiked: I'm still not sure he would've been fast enough...
  • 2 0
@mybaben: if he had a pedal strike he may have been trying to get a few last second pedal stokes in. Not sure if that would be normal or not for that spot.
  • 1 0
Still got the picture though... that’s the important part right?

And walked away haha
  • 1 0
@lagranger: Jesus Christ. Glad that video went off after the initial screams. Brutal fall. Brutal injuries.
  • 1 0
@lagranger: hate you for posting it... freaks me out everytime....
  • 10 0
I saw a kid on my street eat shit super bad on a wooden jump yesterday in his driveway, and one of my first thoughts was "that would have been great for Friday Fails!" I am an a*shole apparently.
  • 7 0
Yeah, for not video taping it. Amazon has cheap security cameras for just this purpose.
  • 9 0
That one big gap was an epic send at least! But for everyone else... please spend a year riding a BMX bike and learn some bike control, you have to be precise on a BMX because little wheels and rigid frame/fork leave very little room for error! I remember chalking up a few big saves on my DH bike to what I learned from riding a BMX on jumps and skatepark.
  • 1 0
F'real. A winter at the skatepark does so much for trail riding. Some of these folks should try it brakeless and maybe they'd quit stabbing front brake when they are landing.
  • 11 0
The fuck was that guy trying to do who did the train gap.
  • 5 0
 Get it shut down apparently.
  • 24 2
he got blown by the wind... was there

WEAK. That’s shut down?! Ugh we’re making a cross country trip next year (covid f*cked us this year) and that was a plan to hit that. LAME @chriskneeland:
  • 2 3
Dude he straight up turned the bars to do the “Joey” whip @walkenpeter:
  • 3 0
 That looked way too windy
  • 6 1
He won. You've not seen the video of the guy who nose dived down it?

Which reminds me that I'd really like to know how that poor soul's recovery is coming along.
  • 1 0
Scroll down. Someone posted the link to the poor guy who shorted it. But it is GRAPHIC!!!
  • 3 0
@blowmyfuse: Jesus christ that was brutal.
  • 2 1
@freeridejerk888: its always "shut down" but theres more than one ramp thats always sitting up there ready to be hit....
  • 4 0
@chriskneeland: Easily the most horrific bike wreck I've seen.
  • 1 0
My buddy lives up there and hit it last summer. Idk why the downvotes are heavy. @mtbakerpow:
  • 1 0
 @walkenpeter: thanks Peter!

Mistake was hitting it that day in the wind, but I’d hit it again without the wind. It’s not a bad jump.
  • 11 0
 I’m here to stay.

Yours truly,
Tree
  • 8 0
Brutal. Trees were mad in this one!
  • 7 0
This weeks fails make me want to order a full face helmet for some reason....
  • 2 0
Can confirm that both the ground and rocks are hard. Haven't tried the trees yet but they don't seem to move much. Had a good bail yesterday where I hit a pile of basically beach sand and slammed into the completely packed ground right beside it. Elbow pad and full face took the brunt of the fall so apart from a bunch of bruising on my right side life is good.
  • 6 2
Good reminder to ride within my limits. Every week, seems like more than half of these are people wearing xc lids, wearing basketball shorts and riding hardtails who clearly appear new to the sport. I don't really enjoy watching those, but I guess watching the enduro bro's fails kind of makes up for it.
  • 6 0
I had to watch it twice, this week had everything I love about Friday fails.
  • 4 0
No trees were hurt in the making of this compilation of Friday Fails! Nice. Also good representation from East and West. The only complaint - people - learn to film in Landscape mode.
  • 2 0
I dunno. Pretty sure some of those trees got pummeled real good.
  • 6 0
 This week was really good.
  • 6 1
Oaft the jobby that musta come fleein oot yon boy who fucked the railway gap.
  • 4 0
this has to be one of the better ones in a long time!!! so good!! some many trees!!!
  • 5 0
Magneto tree is strong in this one.
  • 5 0
1:57 is a nightmare of mine.
  • 5 0
Garmin seems to be the real fail at the moment.
  • 3 0
2:40 bike park with shorts and a T for protection. Ahh to be young again. The trail rash must have been something after that...
  • 4 0
Agreed. The pained/confused look on his face after that exfoliation session, gonna be much worse in a couple hours.
  • 1 0
@Ensminger: It's the face of a kid who knows showers are going to suck for the next few days.
  • 1 0
Some bold moves this week! That giant gap, holy shit!

Suggestion: leave a couple of successful attempts to amp up the anxiety if they are going to make it or not!

Overall, 10/10 would watch other people prove trees don't move again.
  • 2 0
2:45, I'm still trying to figure out what this guy was thinking! He looked like he went off the trail on purpose. He didn't touch the brakes or even try and get back on...then BAM, right into the tree!!
  • 1 0
 well that was pleasantly surprising.
usually on fridays i end up saying, "gotta go faster. speed's your buddy dude!"
but today, today this might have been the speed collection of things gone wrong. good stuff.
2:45 is the best.
  • 2 0
@1:55 I see trees of green
Red roses too
I see them bloom
For me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world Wink
  • 2 0
You watch Friday Fails and wonder how half the f*ckin population Ain’t paralyzed
  • 1 0
I broke my collarbone about a month ago and seeing these Friday Fails just takes me back to that exact moment and I swear I clench a little inside thinking about that pain.
  • 3 0
:37 well you gotta do more than that!
  • 4 1
3.10 - that is an insane gap jump...
  • 2 0
Clearly Red Bull TV should’ve quit broadcasting when the pandemic started and everyone went to Wal-Mart to buy a bike.
  • 3 0
 Treehugger episode fer sure
  • 3 0
The big guy in red was surprisingly acrobatic.
  • 2 0
It must take great forethought to plant a tree a right where someone will hit it with a bike 20 years later.
  • 1 0
@getonyourbike: i was checking out your IG, and damn, I'm blown away by your accident and recovery. Props to you for picking yourself back up. It's truly inspiring.
  • 1 0

  • 2 2
haha, someone's trying to stir up the shitstorm from last week. i think it's funny, other people are sensitive about "fat-shaming". i think that was aunt nicole!
  • 16 0
I was actually glad to see the person out trying! Good on 'em!
  • 4 0

ya the last guy just wanted to join the train wreck!
  • 2 0
A lot of those vid need 3 sec more at the end.
  • 1 0
There were a lot of stitches dealt out by the edges of all those shoddy planks. Want to bleed out? Ride planks at speed.
  • 1 0
01:46: Clearly training for the inevitable Megavalanche start pile-up. That's Friday Genius, not Friday Fail.
  • 1 0
This Friday Fail brought to you by leaning to far forward while grabbing your front brake.
  • 1 0
Is the fail in the POV footage clips the fall, or the fact that all you see is the handlebars and 3' in front of the tire?
  • 2 0
2:20 : is this Tchernobyl in the background ? ^^
  • 1 0
Would like to see the follow up damage of at least 2 of the bikes (Opening snip and 1:57..maybe 2:49)
  • 1 0
At 0:47 - a few more clicks more rebound on that shiny orange fork and would have been fine.
  • 1 0
Silly, everyone knows you need to remove the reflectors from your spokes … that's what's causing the weight imbalance lol
  • 1 0
How to shear off the head tube of your bike.
Some broken bones in there too I presume/》\\》
  • 1 0
Somebody should notify the Sierra Club about all the trees that are being abused in these clips.
  • 1 0
Do we know whether the guy who crashed off that drop right onto his head/neck last week is ok?
  • 1 0
thing i love about these friday fails is knowing that other people fall too. thought i was the only one.
  • 1 0

  • 1 0
Some were scary slow, some scary fast!
  • 1 0
Always wondered why we don’t see more tree slams on FF. Fixed.
  • 2 0
Although I'm still glad we don't see hardly any cacti-collisions. Those are just plain-out sadistic.
  • 1 0
George, George, George of the Jungle...
  • 1 0
 Friend 1: Painful crash
Friend 2: "Good one." in sarcastic tone.

Wise man say, He who grab front brake go over handlebar.
  • 1 0
