In the world of sports there are talented people and then there are athletes. Talented people would usually be considered great athletes if they were able to hone those skills during a competition or race. It's similar to being able to shoot a bulls-eye consistently, but then missing your kill in battle. Being an athlete requires many different attributes, but the most important is the mind and being able to manipulate it to achieve a goal. This is the difference in champions and talented people.

Cam Zink won the 2010 Monster Slopestyle at Kokanee Crankworx in Whistler, B.C., then he took the Red Bull Rampage and FMB Tour in Virgin, Utah. Now he's chosen Evil bikes for his 2011 season.

As Cam Zink successfully landed his second attempt at a 360 off the Oakley Icon Sender, MTB history was made at the 2010 Red Bull Rampage. So began the next chapter in perhaps one of the greatest comeback stories in freeride history.

After a daunting string of injuries throughout past seasons, Zink's 2010 comeback run started with a third place at Châtel Mountain Style back in July, followed by a very convincing win at Kokanee Crankworx. With his recent victory at the Red Bull Rampage, he has successfully inked himself into the history books - not only is Zink the first rider ever to win Kokanee Crankworx and the Red Bull Rampage in the same season, he has locked down the FMB World Championship title as well.

Cam's season was simply beyond belief. Our man Brett Tippie caught up to him for an in depth interview Pinkbike style, and the good folks at Contour have kindly provided exclusive footage from Zink's helmet cam.

Cameron Zink is the first FMB World Tour Champion in mountain bike history

The Red Bull Rampage near Virgin, Utah was a totally worthy conclusion for the first Freeride Mountain Bike (FMB) World Tour ever. The riders impressed the jury with the most spectacular jumps and tricks known in gravity sports in a setting that could not have been any rougher. When SRAM rider Cameron Zink landed the 360 drop on the second try at the Oakley “Icon Sender” it was clear that he could not be beaten.
