WTB’s Silverado saddle has proven to be a popular choice amongst its intended cross-country / all mountain riding audience, but it’s also pretty common to see the seat attached to weight-conscious downhill and freeride rigs. Pinkbike.com received a few of these saddles for test purposes in January and I’ve been putting one of the samples through its paces since then to provide y’all with the longer-term lowdown on the SL55.

WTB has reworked and re-released their eminent Weirwolf tire. The new version sees radical changes to the side knobs and a tweaked tread pattern. Inside we test the 2.3" Weirwolf AM TCS version that uses a novel combination of a UST bead and standard casing. Included is a great video from WTB explaining the design process and featuring some great riding!

WTB previously launched their Dissent tire as "the official tire of Whistler Mountain Bike Park", and boy did it work good on that "A-Line" style of terrain. The Dissent 2.5 was very predictable on dry dirt, but it was a disaster when it touched wet. The Dissent 2.5 was designed with a small channel, which ejects packed up dirt in your tire and so forth, which caused it to pack up in wet conditions.

This season WTB took the Dissent one step further with the Dissent 2.3. They made the profile slightly thinner, and made the channel slightly larger, and in turn created a wicked tire for the opposite side of the scale as its bigger brother, the soft/wet side!

Wilderness Trail Bikes, Inc., a global leader in bicycle components, is proud to announce its smashing success at the Bionicon Keyesville Classic mountain bike race. WTB-sponsored riders won every pro race in the three-stage event, including the prestigious All Mountain Pro title.

The weekend began with Max Plaxton (WTB/Santa Cruz) crushing the competition in Saturday’s XC race. The 23-year-old Canadian clocked a blistering time of 2:17 on the 35-mile course, finishing about a minute ahead of fellow Canadian Kris Sneddon (Kona/WTB).

Graffiti is something most people turn a stale eye to. The days of seeing epic murals on the side of a buildings are gone. All you see now is scribbles done by teenagers while they were just passing by. Graffiti and the streets go hand in hand, so when I saw the Graffiti UK tire by WTB I had to try them out. After receiving them and examining the Graffiti, I am stoked to see how these tires function. Wilderness Trail Bikes, Inc., is proud to be send its PR manager and pro athlete Mark Weir to the Fabien Barel invitational, Urge Kenya.

Mark Weir is joining a select group of the world’s best mountain bikers in a race down Mt. Kenya this February. The event, named Urge Kenya, is being organized by two-time downhill world champion Fabien Barel and Fred Glo of Tribe Sports Group. Only ten athletes will be racing this spectacular, ultra-endurance downhill event and all proceeds will be donated to ACORD, an international alliance working to promote social justice throughout Africa.

Like a helpful roommate, Dain at WTB has hooked us up with some sweet rubbers.

The Pinkbike crew gets to roll on the latest and greatest all too often. You guys call it "testing", while I call it living the dream. But what do we choose when we have to slap down some of our own hard earned coin on parts for our ride?

I've recently invested in a set of brand spanking new custom wheels for my all-mountain bike. I only wanted a set of wheels that approach the weight of XC race hoops, and something wide enough as to work good with 2.5" width tires, and sturdy enough to stand up to the odd booter or big gap if I am feeling zesty enough. That's not too much to ask for is it?

So last summer I got a sweet little 4 inch travel bike that I named “Little Johnny”. Since I got the little guy we’ve managed to hit up almost every riding spot in the Lower Mainland plus a tonne of amazing trails in the Interior like William’s Lake, Kamloops, Kelowna, Merrit, etc …

To say the least, I’ve pounded Little Johnny pretty hard! To handle the bigger trails I built Little Johnny up to be quite beefy- 2.5 Maxxis Minions, a heavy dirt jump seat, a 5th element coil shock, and a 7 inch Boxxer World Cup. It got to the point where Little Johnny weighed more than my friend’s V10! It was definitely time for a trip to the spa for him!

Team WTB scored a clean sweep of wins in the Downieville Classic, July 14-15, 2007. When the dust finally settled, the team had clenched victory in each and every one of the weekend’s elite races.
