We caught up with a few of the Crankworx competitors in practice to see what kind of bikes they were running and what they have done to them to help give them an advantage.

Martin Ogden aka "Oggy" has been on the bike racing scene for a number of years now as a pro rider and he has battled his way into becoming one of the darkest horses on any race track. A huge, all-round talented racer and a very genuine down to earth bloke - whether it's a 4X race or Time trial event, this guy excels at it.

Brian Miller is a top notch Mountain Biker from Marin County, California. He recently moved down to Aptos, and has been training hard for this next season. In 2010 Brian is riding on the Haro factory team for the second year in a row. Expect to see big things from Brian this year as he is aiming for the top.

Over the weekend (9/29-9/30), our trailer and rental Penske van were broken into while parked here at our Vista, CA headquarters. About 30 mountain bikes were stolen that were used at Interbike On Dirt Demo last week.

If you haven’t heard the name “JD Swanguen” now, don’t worry, you will sooner or later. The 16-year-old junior expert downhill racer is known to many in the Southern California downhill race scene as “that really fast kid”. Having raced relatively unsupported for the past several years, Haro Bikes has stepped up to be JD’s official frame sponsor for the 2006 season. He will compete at local, regional, and select NMBS downhill and 4X events as well as invitational MTB skatepark/dirt jump contests. As one of the top junior expert racers in the country, he is poised to earn a nomination to the Junior World Championships in New Zealand later this year.

In the spirit of supporting some of the best professional cyclists in the world, Haro Bikes has once again assembled a star-studded team of mountain bike athletes for the 2006 season.

Freerider Eric Porter has joined Haro Bikes and will compete on Haro frames in all the major slopestyle and freeride events, along with many filming and photo trips. “I am really psyched to be riding for Haro for at least the next 2 years,” said Porter. “They have always sponsored the best riders in the world: Voreis, Strait, Nyquist, Mirra, the list goes on, so it’s a real honor to join that group of riders”.
