Dual Slalom has been around for a long time, and consists of two precise tracks that feature the same jumps, berms etc., and are the same length. It is a gated format meaning racers must weave through a tight course and through the corresponding gates. With some creativity and sponsorship money Jeff Lenosky abd crew have created an awesome new take on this race.

Here is information on how the Dual Stunt came about and its track layout at this year's Sea Otter Classic.

Each year you can expect to see new things unveiled from the SRAM corporation at the Sea Otter Classic. This year's focus was on the 2X10 and an invite only party on the beach. Riders are going to be stoked to be a part of The Camp of Champions for another reason this summer. COC is building their own private Mulch Pit and Dirt Jumps. Head Coach Gareth Dyer, who has made dirt and wood do his bidding before, building dirt jumps at places such as Woodward, will be supervising and building the new addition to the Camp of Champions 18,000 square foot Compound.

A new year, a new season and another round of racing from the Scottish Downhill Association. As in 2009, things kicked off at the Aberdeenshire venue of Pitfichie.

Pitfichie has always been an odd one. Whilst the SDA events are traditionally attended by numerous riders from south of Hadrian’s wall, this is a venue that has always seen a smaller proportion, no doubt due in part to its more Northern latitude compared to the rest of the venues on the calendar, Fort William included. But where Fort William has a rather handy Gondola to take you to the top, at Pitfichie the uplift is human powered; i.e., you push! Still, it’s not something that puts off the Scottish riders, with a maximum capacity entry list, and there were the majority of the usual faces around in the camping field at the bottom of the hill.

Tap Tap Tap… goes the pen, as David Wiesenhofer, global sport's marketing manager from adidas eyewear drifts into a dream state. He has plans to travel to Canada to support the Olympics with eyewear. And what better time to get a chance to test out the new lenses than in BC, where many of adidas eyewear sponsored athletes reside. Spending most of his days behind a desk David ponders what his team of Athletes are up to, wondering where a good venue could be for testing the new all mountain lenses. David decides to organize an adidas eyewear rider gathering. In brief, some of the best mountain bikers of the world that live on the west coast: Matt Hunter, Richie Schley, Ryan and Darren Berrecloth, Goeff Gulevich and Mike Kinrade joined an elite B.C. skier Riley Leboe and International snowboarder Marc-André Tarte. The location, world renowned catski operation Baldface based out of Nelson B.C. The conditions were stated as: Another Day In Deep Ass Snow. Not knowing what to expect, but with good faith in the athletes, he books in anticipation….

Aaron LaRocque is a 23 year old freelance videographer from Victoria British Columbia. After his recent launch of his web video What's Next his career as a filmer has blown up. He is now traveling around the world doing awesome video work for big industry names like Geax Tires and Race Face components.

Sea Otter is a long trek for most people, especially for those who have to drive down. Fortunately for us, we had a big black diesel van to travel in. It actually felt like a motorhome with the amount of space inside. With the pedal down and the GPS guiding us, we rolled into Monterey, home of the Sea Otter Classic, 18 hours after our departure from Vancouver.

This past weekend, we saw the first Pro GRT race go off in Port Angeles, Washington, the first BC Cup DH race of the season in Kamloops, BC and Ranch Style in Grand Junction, Colorado. The early season events have set the tone for a great season.

The Triple V and All Out premiere will happen May 7th just in time to get you stoked on riding the big bikes again at Bromont’s grand opening on the 8th. This premiere will be way different than all of what Montreal has seen before as it will be at Montreal’s biggest skatepark, Le Taz meaning spectators will be able to ride the skatepark before the movies. The doors will open at 8:30 pm, but you can come ride at 7:00 pm for 5$ and the pass is good until the park closes after the premiere. There will be over 5000$ of prizes including an NS Bike frame and LOTS of stuff from Dakine. Make sure to not miss this one as there is no better way to start the season than with a movie night!

Casey Groves has won Ranch Style in Grand Junction Colorado for the second year in a row! Congrats! Graham "Aggy" Agassiz took second and the best trick award and Joe Perizzo wrapped up the top three at Ranch Style today.

The last few days the Anthill crew has been fighting a losing battle against the juggernaut that is Canuck fever. After countless request, pleas and emails... we’ve finally decided to bend to the pressure and play Game 5 of the Canucks/Kings series before the premiere. It will be shown in HD on the big screen at the Vogue theatre. The film will be shown immediately following the 3rd period. There will also be a question and answer session with the crew and riders in between periods. Doors will now open at 6pm. The movie is projected to to start at 9:30pm instead of 9:00pm as originally planned.

Day three of our trip brings us to Watsonville California home of Fox Racing Shox. Our amazing sales guy Jared Connell shows us the Fox digs and some of his favorite trails just minutes from the headquarters. When I say minutes I actually mean over an hour. Before we hit the trails Jared treats us to some choice Mexican food at one of his favorite taquerias which did not disappoint other than the fact that the burritos where the size of a small baby.

Every year after Sea Otter there is a Jump Jam at the Post Office Jumps. This year was the last year the jam will happen because the jumps are getting plowed due to commercial construction of the the land. The turn out was great, so many riders and spectators, and we had awesome weather all day. Most of the worlds best dirt jumpers were there, as well as pro DH racers like Kyle Strait, Andrew Neethling, Brendon Fairclough, Dan Atherton and many more.

Anneke Beerten made the trip over to California from the Netherlands for the Sea Otter Classic to race her Intense SS on this relatively non technical course. She missed last year, but was feeling good on this style of course that favors her 4X and dual style riding.

Day two of our road trip brings us to the birth place of Mountain Biking, Mill Valley California. We hit up our local shop Mt. Tam Bikes for some quick directions to find our way. The 2010 Sea Otter Classic Downhill track hasn't changed in quite some time. Today was the second day of practice for the hundreds of racers who threw down large sums of money for the honor of standing in start lines all day under the blazing sun to get some runs in.

The second round of the NW Cup is upon us! North Vancouver's NSRIDE kicks off the season with group rides at Mt Seymour this Saturday April 17th

The North Shore's biggest riding club, NSRIDE is starting the summer season off in style at Mt Seymour this Saturday. Over a dozen of NSRIDE's experienced Ride Leaders will be on hand to lead multiple groups in both Downhill and Cross Country disciplines. All levels will be catered for from Beginner to Advanced. There’s even an “All Mountain” ride for those that like to earn their descents! After the ride there will be free snacks and draw prizes at a local pub. In the last 2 weeks I have had the chance to travel with Ben Boyko and friends on some photo trips.

We started the first trip out to Oregon. We left on Tuesday with 2 bikes each and all my camera gear, plus extra backpacks. The truck was packed, the weather looked promising and the customs even looked promising with no line-ups! Aww...short lived that last one was! We got pulled in and the entire truck got searched. While we were there, a bunch of people got pulled in for tripping the radioactive sensors. They all had to go through the radioactive testing chamber. Story and pics inside,

This event has been going off for a full decade now and is an essential part of our efforts to keep our riding area healthy. Core training is big buzzword in mountain biking today. It seems that the cure to everything is better "core strength". But what exactly is the core and why should a mountain biker care how strong it is? What is the best way to train the core to help you ride with more skill and endurance? What are some exercises you can start using today to improve your core strength and riding?

This writeup is the second part of Pinkbike.com’s test of the Shimano Alfine internally geared hub. I take pride in the fact that I can destroy bike parts and I am a little disappointed that these rims are still alive. After riding cross country and 1000 kilometers through Northern Thailand and Laos I put it in my mind that I would destroy them by riding with them on my freeride bike.

Only the four best results of each registered rider count for the final FMB World Tour ranking. The single events are categorized into four levels: BRONZE, SILVER, GOLD and DIAMOND. I wasn't sure about the proper techniques of training until I met Troy Tyrell.

My last off season wasn't ideal for any sort of rider, especially me. With the problem of injuries, financials and just not having the right knowledge of proper training I knew it was time for a change in my 2009/2010 off season. Being connected with John Henry Bikes, it introduces me to many people in the riding industry. This brought me to one man by the name of Troy Tyrell, who is not only a personal trainer, but a rider as well. The day Troy and I met we were on the same page right away with ideas that would suit my needs.

After finishing Carson Storch's 2009 Promo I had a ton of extra footage of other riders from all of the different filming sessions. I decided I would make a longer edit with all of the leftover footage and call it "Leftovers", but when word of the edit got around to all of the riders they told me that they wanted to film more to make their parts longer. In fact there was so much interest from the riders to film for this edit that I decided I would turn it into a full-length movie [about 20 minutes so it wouldn't be too long to handle]. The first thing I did when I moved to BC, was visit Seylynn skate park. The second thing I did was go get some band-aids.

Apart from the mecca that is the three mountains known as "The Shore", North Vancouver is also home to four solid skateparks, and a couple of sick dirt jump zones.

This past weekend I had decided that I required a long weekend and that I’d either tee up the interior or the island. The island won the coin toss – ok so we have a rider on the island who’s parts I had to deliver and I have great friends over there that love bikes. Plus was gonna rain all weekend, might as well ride in a new zone and really experience it. Mike had decided that the F1 race on Sunday was of higher merit over a road trip, so it was full solo, but full of great island friends.

The highlight of the year for every UK student mountain biker fell on a long weekend in March, where the most anticipated race of the year took place, the 2010 UK Student Mountain Bike Champs!

University (and some college) students from all over the UK spent hours preparing for the weekend, intensively ‘training’ for the Saturday night party, prepping bikes (gaffa tape, zip ties and hammer fixing obligatory), finding a comedy outfit to ride in (ask George May about the pro’s and cons of taping a massive welsh flag to your head then racing dh through woods), and most crucially of all figuring out which is better value – gin, wine, cider, whiskey or beer?!
