PRESS RELEASE: LIMAR

The Livigno is lightweight and packed with features

We are continuing to expand our mountain bike helmet offerings with the addition of the Livigno full-face helmet. Joining the Tonale and Etna in our E_VOLUTION collection, the Livigno is ideal for enduro and downhill riders wanting a lightweight and breathable helmet option with the increased protection of a full-face.

The Livigno comes equipped with a full range of luxury features, including an adjustable visor, excellent ventilation, and MIPS Node safety system. The Air Fit Evo size adjustment system allows the best comfort of the helmet through its multi-level multi-directional adjustment around the head. The cheek pads are available in different thicknesses and easily removable. The Fidlock magnetic closure system lets you fasten and unfasten the chin strap quickly even when wearing gloves. The medium sized helmet weighs just 590 grams.

MSRP: $249.95
Sizes: Medium, Large
Colors: Black, Sand, Green, Deep Mint
Weights: Medium - 590g, Large - 640g

COMPLETE PROTECTION
Livigno has all of the features to be the best choice among full-face Enduro helmets.

The construction technology of the "in-mold double shell" combines the best protective performance of expanded polystyrene with the total external protection of polycarbonate, to achieve a super light and highly ventilated helmet, both very important features for the comfort of the biker.

The MIPS Node system completes the safety package, allowing you to enjoy adrenaline-pumping experiences with the awareness of being fully protected.

Livigno is equipped with a fixed super light chin guard in ABS coupled with expanded polypropylene to ensure maximum energy absorption in the event of an impact, protection from branches, rocks, and unexpected protrusions. When dealing with rough roads, steep trails, and hard climbs, it is important to consider every detail and choose the best.

Livigno meets the strictest international safety standards, CE, CPSC and ASTM (for downhill use).

SUPERLIGHT TECHNOLOGY
Minimizing the weight is always the heart of every project.

The goal of total protection is always a priority; however, our goal is to offer the lightest and most comfortable product. The medium-sized Livigno weighs only 590 grams.

ULTIMATE COMFORT
The Air Fit Evo size adjustment system allows the best comfort of the helmet through its multi-level multi-directional adjustment for an exact fit.

The ventilation system allows air to circulate freely inside the shell; it is guided through the front holes by a system of internal channels, refreshing the head and maintaining an ideal temperature.

The Fidlock magnetic closure system lets you fasten and unfasten the chin strap quickly even when wearing gloves.

The cheek pads are available in different thicknesses and easily removable when needed (in case of an accident, this is particularly important).

Promoting a helmet and the only photo provided has the riders arm covering their face.

Probably because they know how hideous it looks

Ooofa, that is a rough look and color.

I am not thinking the look is really ugly, it is slim looking, but that color is hard to pull off. My POC is that color and I like the color itself but it looks weird next to my skin tone in photos - not a problem in full length dh attire but still weird and doesn't really fit in with anything.

@R-trailking-S: It works as a half shell. Otherwise you must ride an orange coloured bike for this to work.

Better than the black and dark grey choice that many manufactures seem to offer at the moment...

Full white clothing and that helmet is a fresh look. Minty fresh.

"For more information, go to US.Limar.com" absolutely nothing there about this helmet.

"For less information, go to US.Limar.com" then?

What do you mean, they explicitly state it offers "Complete Protection," which as anyone who knows about the helmet industry knows is the most important and rigorous standard to adhere to.

Maybe their web site designer has the day off due to the holiday, kind of a fail for whoever put out this PR.

I dunno. Maybe it's a geo-restricted thing but I went to the site, clicked a few links, and got the helmet specs and info.

@Skippy24: Yeah, it got added about an hour after my comment. Guess the press release and website update were not coordinated.

Very silimar to my IXS Trigger FF MIPS, nice to have more options. Too bad it can only to be had in two sizes.

Looks like my IXS Trigger is now obsolete, great to see more ultralighweight DH helmets. Maybe Pink bike should do a roundup?

Not as light as the Dainese Linea at 570g, $290
Lamar Livigno 590-640g, $250
The IXS Trigger 600-660g, $240

If anyone has information on lightweight goggles (they contribute to overall "headweight" and therefore safety), I would really love to know, thanks!
  • 5 0
 I do like that weight
  • 3 0
Get a IXS Trigger FF then.
  • 1 0
@nozes: Dainese Linea 01 is even lighter, cost $40 more
  • 1 0
@nozes: the Limar Livigno is lighter than the Trigger

I think it looks good. Light and cheap too. Good for a bit more protection trail riding,

Wintergreen gum now sells helmets.. Sick!

Who wants a full face but only enduro rated? Especially when you can get a new leatt carbon one for a similar price(in the UK), only 200grams more and DH rated.
  • 3 1
200g is a lot extra to be shaking it around on your head all day. Not the only consideration but worth a thought.
  • 2 4
@AyJayDoubleyou: yes, but 800grs is nothing for a dh rated full face. Most are well over a kilo . Just can't see the reasoning to go for this at the same price with less protection. People will ultimately use it at parks, which it isnt rated for

My Lazer Cage is advertised at 820g and it is DH rated

I do. My Giro Disciple fits well and I like it for DH, but it's double the weight and 1/3rd the ventilation of a lightweight Enduro lid such as this.

With a 58cm, oval shaped head and a dislike of loose fitting helmets (EG sized 58-62cm) 90% of the lightweight FF helmets just don't work for me. Certainly of them fit like the Disciple - not the Proframe, Otocon, Trigger FF. There's probably a couple more I tried, a couple more that I didn't - some because the are too hard to get in Australia (and not approved for use here.)

In the end, I decided TLD Stage fits well enough, but it could be better. So I'd like to try this and the Coalition, though the latter is a bit heavy.

@Endo79: more weight is less protection. You want your helmet to be as light as possible while DH rated to avoid TBIs
  • 1 0
These aren't Enduro rated, they're Downhill rated. Why would you want to add 200 grams of weight to your helmet? More weight, means more force exerted on your head
  • 1 0
Reducing the weight from 800g to 600g is 25% lighter, which is also a lot more comfortable/less tiring at the end of the day.
  • 1 0
@wburnes: not doesn't. Weight has little to nothing to do with the safety. It just means composites and different materials are used. To be dh rated they all have to pass the same tests.
  • 1 0
@wburnes: it clearly says they are enduro rated only. Not dh
  • 1 0
Scratch that, read something that mentioned enduro multiple times. It says DH rated on their site
  • 1 1
 Looks like a Proframe
  • 2 0
Looks like my 1998 helmet minus the silver peak. with a bunch of vents/ man i loved that silver peak
