Matthew Fairbrother's 2024 Crankworx Race Bike. PC Matthew Fairbrother
Professional enduro racer Matthew Fairbrother decided to try his hand at the Crankworx Air DH and Dual Slalom only a few short days after his herculean
win at the NZ MTB Rally enduro race. While Crankworx itself and these race disciplines were new to him, he's no stranger to trying new things or getting out of his comfort zone.
To make the most of the quick turnaround, additional travel and short practice, Matthew recorded his braking and got feedback from skills coach Jamie Garrod on the gondola ride between practice runs.
In this rare peek behind the pro MTB curtain, Matthew has decided to share his braking data from his race run. All up he braked 16 times for a total of 18.1 seconds using 25% front brake and 75% rear.
