Hosted by Mike Levy and featuring a rotating cast of the editorial team and other guests, the Pinkbike Podcast is a weekly update on all the latest stories from around the world of mountain biking, as well as some frank discussion about tech, racing, and everything in between.

With both the Taipei Cycle Show and Sea Otter on hiatus this year, it was looking like slim pickings for us technophiles curious about what's coming and how it works. But Covid19 can't put the brakes on something that doesn't actually exist, can it? Enter our virtual tradeshow, Pond Beaver 2020, where fresh gear was covered from an acceptable social distance. And with plenty of new soft goods, components, and suspension, along with a few new bikes, there's still a lot for us to yammer about.

Episode three includes Brian Park (Head of Editorial), Mike Kazimer (Managing Tech Editor), James Smurthwaite (News Manager and former mountain boarder), and Dan Roberts (Tech Editor and an actual, real-life engineer) talking all things Pond Beaver, including Fox's new forks and shocks.

Available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Play, or wherever else you get your podcasts.

I've been enjoying these podcasts. Some of the bike related podcast I listen to have terrible sound quality and it can make them almost impossible to listen to, you guys are doing a great job in that respect and the content too!

Thank you! James has a mic arriving today too, but we've still got lots to learn.

@brianpark: Yeti Blue microphone, best bang for the buck!

@rowdypatty: got mine today - if anything it's too sensitive. I can hear my daughter complaining about her math several rooms away and the little one yelling at his fortnite friends in the basement.

turns out I didn't want a microphone, just some basic earplugs...

@plyawn: yeah we're not planning on using condenser mics for that reason. None of us have ideal recording environments at the moment.

@brianpark: I agree that the content and quality is pretty rad. I have had an issue with the podcast stopping on it's own. I am using Chrome...is the podcast optimised for another browser? Thanks for the fun!

@cky78: Same issue in chrome for me.

I like carbon wheels because they don't dent all the time and they stay true better. They're also usually lighter than aluminum. You can hit a rock and you don't have to take a pair of pliers to your rim. I've got a couple chips but they haven't been a problem. If the Advent X holds up for years that's the only drivetrain I'll likely be running from now on. I'd like to know if MicroShift has done any extreme durability testing.

Yeah, what sort of alu rims are we talking about? So carbon rims cracking in Pinkbike reviews were prototypes? I’ve ridden the hell out of EX471 with no dents and minor adjustment. I have carbon rims after 3 yeara of use by a friend upstair which indeed are perfectly true and don’t have dents, only 3-5 delaminations, parta of sidewall missing and they made it easy for me to to strip them from hubs (I was after hubs) because all alloy nipples pulverized due to galvanic corrosion. Carbon rims are theoretically tougher. So far warranty departments of carbon rims makers are busy fulfilling lifetime warranty claims. A guy who bought an alloy wheelset from me said: I bought carbon rims to my son, but in my experience he’s going to waste them like I wasted mine, so until warranty return areivea we need a spare wheelset. So yeah happy to hear you are lucky with your rims

@WAKIdesigns: wish I could say the se about my ex471... Fall of '18 killed the stock rear rim on my bike, had the shop build up an ex471, rode moderately into December. Got back on the bike in may, by the end of July it had detensioned spokes to the point I could hear them rattling around, I had a partially folded in sidewall that put a dent in the bed too. Brought it to the shop and the statement is, it's technically a wheel, it's mostly true but it's life is pretty much shot. It's held through the rest of the year, with a dramatic reduced riding schedule but I'd be curious how long it'll hold together...

@rclugnut: most hard riding people I know are using EX471 and they are kicking the last crap out of them on Enduro comps (including EWS) and general DH riding. Some even use XM841 with big success. I can't list all the friends who messed up all sorts of carbon rims. Rather quickly in most cases. Also same people who run DT rims with huge success.

Thanks guys, great podcast. Another GREAT podcast was the latest “The Mountain Bike Podcast” with Richard Cunningham. So much knowledge and foresight. It would be cool to hear your ( Mike, Mike, and Brian) opinions on where the sport is headed, what could be different, and true feelings on e-bikes and e-bike culture. Either way thanks for keeping us entertained during this crazy time!
