The rest are either annoying, suck at riding or make videos with 2% riding and 98% talking.

 I have to say, all of my fears about eBikers have proven themselves unfounded. I have also noticed that they are getting more people into mountain biking. Those people are mostly boomers and dads with beer guts, but hey, they're getting healthy and getting outside.

eBikes are also an excellent training partner if you ride analog. I ride with a friend who's on an eBike and it absolutely destroys my legs (this is a good thing).

 @rickybobby18: I gotta say BS on most ebikers being boomers & dads. Around here most are 20's & 30's fat ass slackers. And as for training, not much aerobic going on there, not sure how you figured that one out.

 Worst trends...

People being so narrow minded and letting others bother them.

Don't like ebikes? Don't ride one.
Don't want to use uplift service? Don't use one.
Don't like hardtails? Ride a full sus.

I could go on...

 @coletrane-mtb: IDK for certain that more is better... its debatable and probably based on individual perspective. Some folks appreciate the quiet... one with nature, or man against nature perspective and on the other end some people prefer the crowded ski slope feel. Sure I would like more trails, but I'm not sure I would want them to be privately owned, and certainly don't want to wait in line for my turn.

But how does what you just said apply to downhill? Or lift assisted riding? Or shuttling? Kinda seems like you’re arbitrarily gatekeeping.

I ride with a friend with an ebike. It destroys my legs and we are able to keep the same pace. And then he is faster than me, or paired with me, on the downhills.

Like many areas of judgment, it’s easy to judge when it’s not personal. When I didn’t have a great friend who eBiked, I judged. When I started having great rides with someone on an eBike, I stopped judging.

 arm/wrist fatigue, getting bucked excessively, harsh bottom-outs (Assuming that lack of skill/fitness isn't causing those things)

 If your air suspension feels harsh, you might need to add more air. It seems counter intuitive but it's easy to misdiagnose and remove air when you really need to add more. If the starting point for your suspension is too soft, you'll sit deeper in your travel and blow through it super quick, which can feel like your suspension is too firm or harsh. It might then be tempting to remove air in an effort to soften the suspension when really you need more air to provide more support so you don't blow through your suspension so easily.

 Save this for your haters for 10 years, when battery tech has improved enough to allow people to "pedal" their motorized bicycles in max assist mode for way longer than they're capable of today. Non-motorized trails should stay non-motorized. Not everything needs to be as easy as possible.

 I had a standard rf turbine in alu & the rf turbine next, alu with carbon insert back in the day. the carbon crank was a few grams heavier

 Only ebikes are not a trend - they are now here to stay. I used ta think this too then my best bud wrecked, broke all kindsa bones & can't ride w/o an ebike now. I'll take my bud on an e-bike over not having him. Does it really matter tho that fat old (or young) slobs are ebiking? If they are not rude & shitty, fine. Anyone rude & shitty should get hard-checked ebike or not. Also as long as ebikers aren't pretending to pedal on strava...we're good. And more so, ebikes are hardly allowed on any trails in my area (and I'll call that shit right in & even wait in the lot to report plates if needed) so its not really much an issue...for now. What can ya do, just be mad all the time?

 Oil-slick fits in with what remains of my 90s big hair. Haha. My hair fell out and I expect oil-slick will too. I tried ano-purple but prefered ano-red. Now it's ano-black or ano grey or ano-silver only for me and my baldness.

We are privileged in that we're big enough to not have to choose between paying the team and telling the truth or reporting on uncomfortable topics. But yes, there are lots of industry connections in the MTB media world—sometimes that helps us do our jobs and sometimes that certainly contributes to biases. Despite that, I work hard every day for our work to be as objective and useful to the community as possible, and to limit any impact those biases might have.

I like to think that we're pretty even handed when it comes to product verdicts. We've never shied away from reporting on bikes breaking or products failing. I will say that some industry people absolutely lose their marbles when we give their products positive but not freak-out-hyperbolic-praise reviews. There are definitely some weird, unfounded expectations out there.

Things like the EWS doping stories are incredibly complicated, and to be honest I look back on that one with a lot of pride. There are lots of stories I wish I'd had us approach differently, but that's not one of them. I'm also pretty certain that if we hadn't reported on that story, nobody else would have.

 @Mtn-Goat-13: if you have a 52t cassette you need the white tool. or just put it in the second largest gear and adjust the upper pulley so that it can get into the eagle gear without excessive crunching.

 @DAN-ROCKS: Thx for the note - took to a 3rd mechanic & they removed 1 or 2 links (?) and that seems to have done it. More so tho - I'm still wondering wtf is up w/ no b-screw clicks or number (something) that could help riders on the trail since once that is set & theoretically in perfect place, would be super useful to reset on the trail (perhaps) when it gets bounced out. I've needed b-screw adjusts often after riding ruff terrain near here but now I'm afraid to touch it having messed that up every time. I saw a hack online for marking the derailer w/ a sharpie 7 figured I'll try that but...just wondering why the manu's haven't done this .Would help demystify things

 ive thought a lot about extra big wheels and idk the downsides of huge wheels other than weight and acceleration. more momentum though and more monster truckness. still though there has to be a limit... plus it is hard to design long travel bikes with huge wheels. wheels take up a lot of space

 @sluggo6 Just reporting the facts. The unnamed carbon frame maker is legit, but he did say: "Don't try this at home, please, it was just an experiment." My sentiments are to err on the side of safety and don't drill anywhere on your bike, regardless of the material, where you wouldn't want it to break at the worst possible moment.
