Like high stakes gamblers who bet on quite literally anything...bike racers cannot stop.
Not saying you gotta like it but surely you've seen this...yeah?
I wonder why you think the answer is to remove it from the world series, or seeing Flo getting 9th not 1st at an E-bike event by (I'm guessing) cancelling the e-bike race entirely though? Is the answer to you not liking ebike racing not just... you dont need to follow ebike races that happen? Why would you rather the series is removed off the world series rather than you just saying "nah, not for me"?
To use @melikebike74's idea - that way Flo gets to win 1st at the e-bike race AND aim for 9th at the EWS and nobody needs to give up anything.
As of now the prestige and marketing range of winning E-EWS is rather lowkey, maybe an anonymous questionnaire among elite mountain bike racers would really show if they rank motor assisted racing results high or low among themselves.
Several recent podcasts rank the bike mechanics and engineers or motor / transmissions developer a lot higher than the actual athlete putting their own power down, because the differences in motor performance are way way bigger than say Shimano or SRAM brakes or shifters or rims/tires.
@owl-X huh? that's great - I'm down with ripping around in the dirt. racing? as noted previously, IDGAF about e-racing.
I'll throw you both a bone here: if people want to follow the series, then fine, but I think it's lame. Like anatomical parts, everyone has one - sometimes more.
the podcasts i have heard recently had a few athletes talking about quite big differences in performance of the motor and transmission and that even talented athletes in the form of their life and definitely good bike handlers sometimes were outmatched by rather average competitors since the power output and/or battery capacity in the latter part of races outweighed individual advantages in cornering, descending, or technical uphill prowess. Maybe track design or stricter rules for the motors / transmission can level the playing field.
But I`d rather see the money spent for motorassisted bike- races better being spent for regular bike races, since real motocross already exists and mx light isn't really an attractive goal. Just my individual opinion, to each their own
Are you really comparing E ews to motocross? And people are giving you props for it, lol. Delusional at best. I guess some only see what they want. Oh well
