IDK how I haven’t schralped a derailleur since going 1x..
That said, I don’t think I’d go out of my way to buy carbon cranks again. The performance, weight and durability aren’t that much different to warrant the price.
I just remember taking off my NX cranks, holding them in one hand and the descendants in the other. I know there’s a weight difference but not much that I could feel. Stiffness, yes, but it wasn’t leaps and bounds better. One hasn’t proven any more durable than the other. So in the end, I just don’t think it’s worth the cost difference.
I’m not saying NX is great, but I am saying you can grab a higher-end aluminum crank (take your pick) with similar weight and same performance for a lot less money than a carbon crank. I’ll likely be doing that in the future. I just don’t think the extra money is worth it.
