@DrPete: Its a cursed bike like the game of Jumanji. Jumanji 3 - A wild bike in the forest waits for you to jump on and engage in a life or death game of BIKE... Featuring Jack Black, The Rock and Kevin Hart.
@tbmaddux: Yeah, but he's got the power of youth. He'll be hitting that kicker in no time. If it was me, my kids would now be fighting over who get's my collection of 80's Santa Cruz skateboards...
Surprised that’s the still they chose for the FF video. Pretty scary esp since it’s a few posts away from a guy featured on an adaptive bike because of a crash.
I commented the same a while ago and some fucker was trying to tell me that he didn't have black bars on his phone when he watched it.
They need to put a colored tag on the front page so you can filtre those idiots out.
One thing I don't understand is how people can seemingly land fine but crash seconds later. I'm not even talking squirrelly landings.
@chickenlassi: Or we can just have a dedicated Friday Fails every few weeks that has purely vertical clips and everyone can watch it on their phone. Would be much better than intermixing landscape and portrait
@chickenlassi: thats actuall a real problem, like when you land something and your for example super stocked about that, you just forget for a millisecond how to handle your bike properly and that theres more gnar comimg up to you so your not concentrated, and boom, there you have your crash after perfectly landing your jump before...
@timbud: Could you imagine? How funny would that be when you're about to hit a gap jump and you look over at your buddy and he starts to slowly turn his phone vertical and you're like, "nooooooooooooo!"
My little boy loves watching these videos, his reactions to the hard diggers are priceless. He said he felt sorry this week for the guy with the coloured tape on his handlebars.
That BMX kid.. Fuuuuuuukin eh he got broke off something fierce! As been said already, I'd care to find out he's ok and cheer, because that was 100% brutality..
Bar tape bro was for-sure playing that "So you had a bad day.." song.. Props for him keepin on shreddin' after what appeared to be multiple get-off's!!
I love these. The first 2 minutes were kinda like... "yeah, ok, people crash because they don't know what their "safe speed" is," Then 2:15 came, and I thought: if that were me, I would have been a quadriplegic. Thank f*ck kids are flexible. And remeber kids: if it looks easy on youtube, it probably is.
I've laughed, too often at FF, been aghast a few times. Today is the first time the word poignant came to mind. Could be today, or the week after week of hopeful lemmings thinking they may be the one to survive the plunge off the cliff...without pulling up.
@3:48, I'm gonna make an awesome MTB vid of this bad ass trail...records nothing but top tube. Some people need to learn how to position the camera properly. Hell of a wreck though, hope you're okay.
Why don't we ever see any women in the Friday Fails videos? Are they just smarter than guys, or just more modest about sharing their fails? Either way, they are under-represented.
I think women realize that no one wants to watch videos of them riding or their dumb helmet cam footage. Lets be honest, without the crashes in them all these videos would just be unwatchable garbage that no one would want to see. Women realize this, while men actually think they look cool enough to film themselves.
@tobiusmaximum: I get the impression that women ride within their skill level and progress in a more calculated way. I know they fall, but not as spectacular as we tend to do.
the first one after the opening animation is Spider Mountain in Texas! I went there last week on a work trip, significantly better riding than I thought possible in the Lone Star state.
I don't watch them either, fail to see the fun in people potentially getting seriously injured (I really don't believe that the people walk away without life altering injuries from some of the clips I have seen). It also puts me right off riding on Saturdays as it brings the risks to the forefront of my mind.
I had a nasty injury 2 seasons ago (3 broken ribs, shoulder dislocation) that kept me off the bike for 6+ months, so pshychologically it already takes a lot for me to get out of my comfort zone now - these clips don't help.
@Marc2211: I'm 100% with you on this. The mind takes longer to heal, and more often than not it never does. I used to white water kayak and got into some serious trouble a few times, one stuck. I healed after a few months, but my head didn't and I started f*cking up lines like I was a noob all over again. It's around that time I started looking for other sports, and DH biking was the winner. Watching people nail something makes me want to try it, watching people hurt themselves.... I don't get stoked on that.

The kid looked okay. Thank God

Great fails this week but is the Bmx kid ok ?
I was wrong.
