If he continues with this technique of trying to gain height and distance by bumping himself forward off the landing and tucking the bike under he’ll end up like the guy at 2:03 who used exactly same technique. They both saw they are going too slow in the last moment so they tried to hop forward with the whole body and bike.
I think PB should start a "Saturday Saves" video series. Or maybe SundaySaves. whatever. Saves is the key point. Because there have been some unreal saves in Friday Fails.
@mybaben: can see at the last minute he throws his weight right back, instead of pumping into the lip he just compresses into it like a sack of potatoes and his arms buckle and the front veers off... either that or the invisible giant theory also sounds pretty solid, some of these forests are pretty spooked
1 year to the day today I smacked a tree. Shattered my knee into a half dozen pieces. 9 screws and 9 months of PT later, I still can't help myself and watch every Friday fail. I'm back on a bike, but brothers... avoid them trees! They'll win 10 out of 10 times...
@alexmander: That's cool. One time years ago a dead ok limb fell on my back as I Squeezed under it. It pinned me in place on my feet, standing. I instantly thought for a moment that this was how Atlas must feel all the time
@Earlistotle: My pudding was one of the old Blackburn Mississippi backpacks with almost a gallon of water on my back. Surprisingly neither of the 100oz. bladders sprung a leak. Right after my 'Atlas" reflection, I started in with the paranoia, think See Air Uh clubbers had set a trap for me. It's still good for a laugh after almost 20 years gone by.
How do people start ragdolling as they leave a drop? f*ck get the basics right first.
At least this week didn't seem to have anyone who could really ride whooping themselves......that always makes me worry what when you see a good rider on a fail vid.
@ 1:50 the guy on Papa Bear....WEAK....just last weekend a guy broke his wheel right off his bike...so many others....(mostly while drunk). We shall see more after this weekend at the 12 Hours of Santos.
@TwoNGlenn: One would think that OMBA would announce things on a forum such as this (you know, small things like FTF...). That would however make sense.
The one at 1:38 (which looks like in Woburn) could have gone really bad, had the berm been 1m closer or he’d fly 1m farther. I have a friend who broke half of his body this way and a few people broke their necks and spines when they came to instant stop by falling on counter slope of a berm/ pumptrack roller. Ugh... hope he’s ok
Kurva. Polish for "F**k". Literal translation is "whore". Comes from the medieval practice of punishing prostitutes by breaking their backs over the curve (kurva) of a barrel. Another charming Catholic tradition...
lol the dog was like what ever
Glad you're back on the bike!

That's suppose to be an "enhanced expletive" too.
