 @NivlacEloop: I want to disagree but I can't

@phil-e-b: no come back there are plenty of insults left to go around
  • 3 1
I am not sure if that was lefty or spandex that mad that oddly satisfying to watch Big Grin
  • 2 0
There is a cure for Lefty’s coming soon. It’s only weeks away...
  • 4 6
@Skootur: Lefties don't believe there is a problem that needs to be cured, they just dont belive in the righties. ....MLGA....

We lefties all wear spandex. A bit like fighter pilot pressure suits. Helps us from passing out from the higher speed high G turns possible only with a lefty.
  • 2 1
@pink505: There were errors counting the G’s...
RECOUNT!!!
  • 4 1
@Skootur: The Make Lefty Great Again movement was on track until evil private equity ( rusian or chinese we are sure) bought the mothership and is moving it out of the public eye. No Gs will ever be great enough again to get lefties in spandex. I accept defeat humbly this time but will bring back to MLGA in 2024.

I guess it is too early to poke a little fun at Trump based on all the downvotes on my other MLGA posts...
  • 3 1
@pink505: Don’t worry about their butthurt. Those of us in Canada, NZ & pretty much the rest of the world can see the funny side of the ‘leader of the greatest democracy in the world’ acting like a 2yr old who’s been told no for the first time. Personally I found your MLGA posts hilarious which is why I joined in... tup

@Skootur: The United States is a constitutional federal republic, not a democracy. Didn’t want you looking both judgemental and ignorant simultaneously. You’re welcome.

  • 19 0
1:35 The sound effect in Goldeneye N64 when an enemy was shot
  • 1 0

  • 4 0
@pigman65: oh yes! These rocks looks very bad for a naked knee!
  • 27 0
Is this scientific evidence for future generations to understand why Women lived longer than Men?
  • 26 0
Great to see more people on bikes...
  • 5 1
And then off them. Some times off them at the highest point over a jump.
  • 1 0
 Gold!
  • 2 0
 on then suddenly off
  • 25 0
 "you good, dude?"
*Dude is still rolling upside down the landing without his bike.*
  • 21 0
If you slow down at 0:55 you can see his wheel smash the downtube.

OOOOHHHuuuh!
  • 15 0
and the frame separate in two...
  • 31 0
@chiroshi: and his soul break into three...
  • 5 0
 Also "Thats no moon"
  • 13 0
@chiroshi: It was me and the frame broke in three.
  • 3 0
That's going to be a JRA warranty soon.
  • 19 5
So many of these are people that need to spend more time learning to actually ride a mountain bike rather than focusing on hitting jumps and drops because the cameras rolling. My 11 year old can out-ride most of these people.
  • 11 1
Yes!!! As I watch these, I'm always trying to figure out what the hell these riders were thinking? Based on their body positions, over all composure, etc, they are clearly above their "pay grade". What's the deal? Is it because new riders are automatically exposed to "wonder bikes" that can do everything and they are getting to ride these amazing trails and features that just didn't exist when a lot of us started. I started riding back in 97' and while we were all trying to progress it was always at steady rate. Learn A, then B, then C, etc. These riders are just heading for the the first 6' drop they can find and flinging themselves off hoping their fancy 160mm bike will just do the work when they clearly need to go back to a 1' drop and figure it out. End of my "not that old, old guy" rant. haha
  • 29 0
@metalvelo: Man who didn't eat shit on an ambitious feature or two when we were younger. Blind confidence isn't new, it's just that everyone didn't have a camera in their pocket to capture the carnage.
  • 3 0
@metalvelo: Well there is almost always someone in the background yelling "you got this" right before they eat shit.
  • 3 0
Today's group-a bunch of them should have their saddles taken away until they learn to stand up. Most pros couldn't pull off some of the sitting-on-the-high-seatpost moves that were attempted today.
  • 15 0
Its funny how people roll off drop features, and I guess expect the bike will level out before the landing on its own, with no effort? I think about this every Friday.
  • 1 1
Yeah, I don't get it either. This is my weekly lesson to keep my wheels on the ground!
  • 1 0
Or that they roll off big drops with no skill and no apparent concern for the consequences.
  • 1 0
The guy at 3:10 gave it his best shot. Just gotta get the timing worked out!

Or maybe he was trying to do some kind of roll down move???
  • 15 0
2:44 should learn how to wear his helmet correctly.
  • 12 0
Wow, Slayer man at 0:33, this feature is not a kicker !

Future mullet advocate at 0:50 Smile
  • 6 0
Just WOW! How did he think that was going to land smoothly. Big balls though!
  • 15 0
"you can't send it off a wallride!"

"hold my beer"
  • 2 0
At least we now know slayer can handle huck to flat
  • 13 0
 Pretty brutal week!
  • 9 0
 I'm awarding 2:17 a success
  • 9 0
By far the biggest fail are people who film in portrait mode.
  • 6 0
The millisecond I wipe out, my friends: "You OK, dude?"
Me thinking: "No man, I'm pretty f*** far from OK"

If you're too young to remember that's a Pulp Fiction quote for you right there!!
  • 6 0
Dave hadn't stopped sliding before his buddy checked to see if he was ok.
  • 7 0
Dave could possibly still be sliding now.
  • 2 0
 @Watersconstr: poor dave!
  • 6 0
 No. Dave is not ok.
  • 2 0
@Watersconstr: some say, on a nice clear day, you can still see the roost left behind on the horizon.. lol
  • 7 1
 love an XC scorpion
  • 3 0
I'm still waiting for someone filming to ask, "Are you well?"

It's abundantly obvious that in most of these videos, the rider is definitively not, "good."
  • 1 0
Yes but that sounds dumb and pretentious. Yes asking if they are good is also not great. I think the best middle ground response is "are you okay?"
  • 2 0
"This is for posterity, so be honest: How do you feel?"
  • 1 0
@Mazdamia not really concerned about what they say so long as they don't point the camera at the ground while they do it
  • 4 0
There's a special kind of wincing reserved for the chap @ 1:53–riding down shale sans knee pads. Blank Stare
  • 1 0
Scree field vs skin, never a fair fight. I had a hard time watching that one.
  • 4 0
3:04 - " let's impress the girls and schralp this berm"
the girls laughing is great!
  • 1 0
I'm surprised no-one ever references Friday Fails. When I have my next massive crash (statistically I'm about due one), I'm going to make sure I shout "This one's for Friday Fails" as my face burrows into the loam.
  • 1 0
It has happened. There have been more than a few clips where someone pops up after the crash and says "friday fails".
  • 4 0
2:13 that north shore drop is tough. That's a win in my books
  • 1 0
That was a huge send to no run out. Brilliant.
  • 4 0
LOL 1:28 isn't suppose to be a roller. That's the drop at Floyd Hill
  • 4 0
3:35 Finally someone in Fails who knows how to bail!!
  • 1 0
True, but in fairness to the others, he was high enough to have time to pull the ejector seat.
  • 2 0
i am convinced that if a few of these videos showed the aftermath of the crash, the title would change from 'friday fails' to 'faces of death'
  • 3 0
Not gonna lie, watching a lycra clad XC warrior eating $hit off a 1 foot drop brings me joy
  • 3 0
 Great sound effects this week!
  • 2 0
These Friday fail videos taught me to leave my finger off the front brake....
  • 2 0
Maybe I'll stop pressuring my girlfriend to roll the rock drop at Floyd Hill. 1:27 convinced me.
  • 1 0
It's a fine line between pressure and encouragement
  • 3 0
What a bail at 3:38. Impressive!
  • 2 0
My dude was rotating forward so hard he was halfway to a front flip when he bailed
  • 2 0
0:45 made me happy. That's the kind of wreck that you could ALMOST tell yourself that you meant to do that. Smile
  • 1 2
Why not have a "wednesday wins" video? You know, where we can show our non-sponsored selves actually making it out of some feature and feeling a sense of accomplishment. We can show that us mortals are capable of more than just crashing on mtbs. Maybe pinkbike doesn't think very highly of us. It's somewhat sadistic watching these. I for one would feel better watching Wednesday wins!
  • 2 0
@steelpoo because watching amateur/intermediate riders is pretty boring for the most part... No shortage of that over on u-tube
  • 1 0
@Gmang: No shortage of anything on youtube. I'm pretty sure there's a good number of riders on here capable of making an entertaining contribution to a weekly reel, and they would be doing it simply because they find it enjoyable. It's pure riding. Also, highly skilled or not, close calls are entertaining. And whats the point of the down vote? I value differing opinions, so heres an up vote, u r welcome.
  • 2 0
Some of these exclamations could easily replace "the Wilhelm Scream"…
  • 1 0
I have to watch with volume off and my hand ready to cover the screen. Even then, I rarely make it past the halfway point.
  • 1 0
dude wth happened to the guy at 20 secs... he looks like he's dead before he crashes!
  • 2 0
What private!? I was looking forward to watching others suffer!
  • 2 0
Thanks for fixing it quick! I enjoyed it.
  • 1 3
I´m always confused by the criteria to make it into the Friday fails video because surely some people are cut.or is this just all the pinkers who crashed this past week. As usual some of the crashes were genuinely violent and quite scary the kind of crash that makes you wince watching it. but then its followed by some guy sliding off a dusty trail at low speeds. can someone explain
  • 11 1
 All Crashes Matter
  • 1 0
@mi-bike: i know im just wondering what the criteria for the video is
  • 1 0
It’s just a slow process - there’s far more submissions than what actually makes it into the videos. It took a few months for one of my videos to make it in.
  • 2 0
Not much by way of criteria. I thinks it's just whatever content they get that is in decent, usable clips. I was included a month or so ago, just sliding off the edge of a smooth trail at a bike park. Other than me making some interesting noises, the crash was exceptionally mild. The win was - the guy I was riding with got *excellent* go-pro follow footage of it, 'cause he happened to be running a chest-mount that day..
  • 2 0
Opening Kid gets bonus points for almost getting that nose manual done.
  • 2 0
 "Don't go slow...go fast"

Mom gets it.
  • 1 0
The second guy at 3.16 just keeps riding.....not nice. Perhaps he was looking for Dave.
  • 1 0
I wonder how many lives have been saved by PB reminding us every Friday that we are mortal...
  • 1 0
0:58 That fork and frame are done. Wheel looking pretty square on the freeze frame
  • 2 0
2:13 was actually pretty gnarly, props for sliding in
  • 2 0
More run bike fails! Kids are hilarious.
  • 1 0
 Agree.
  • 1 0
Pretty sure I heard the old Mortal Combat "Finish Him" yell from off in the distance with all of these scorpion wrecks!
  • 1 0
The bar hump at 1:09. No dropper though, so tough conditions to do it right.
  • 2 0
Alec going off the bridge!!!! Yah buddy!!!! Hahah.
  • 1 0
yeAH broken ribs are still not healed. haha
  • 1 0
Seems like the theme to today was either crash at the camera or into the cameraman. Camera had some bad juijui today, lol.
  • 1 0
9/10 doctors recommend not casing your jumps. 1/10 doctors are orthopedic surgeons.
  • 1 0
What was the guy at 33sec attempting? An intentional fly off the back of the wall ride to certain doom?
  • 1 0
At the end “hoooly shit you good dude?”
Buddies still rolling out of the crash????
  • 1 0
Too much people relying on their suspension's travel or not respecting the learning curve ! Smile
  • 1 0
Does anyone know how to get a video into FF?
  • 2 0
 Yes, "Crash and Burn"...
  • 2 0
Step 1. Get on your bike Step 2. Turn on camera Step 3. Involuntarily dismount Step 4. Upload footage Voila
  • 1 0
1:52 "Let me just check to make sure the camera is recording."
  • 1 0
2:28 looks like the drop zone at Angel Fire.
  • 1 0
1:01 Rider roulette, place your bets here, 1, 2 or will it be number 3?
  • 1 0
COVID has been good for the MTB industry , not so much for new riders....
  • 1 0
#FaceplantFriday. Yeti's are going to be sold out for quite a while.
  • 1 0
So many that was uncomfortable to watch this friday :/
  • 1 0
guy @3:35 could not handle the awesomeness of his buddy's back flip.
  • 1 0
 It must be scorpion season!
  • 1 0
Didn't hear "Kurwa" once in this. Doesn't count as a Friday fails.
  • 1 0
 guy @2.16 , caaf
