@Skootur: Lefties don't believe there is a problem that needs to be cured, they just dont belive in the righties. ....MLGA....
We lefties all wear spandex. A bit like fighter pilot pressure suits. Helps us from passing out from the higher speed high G turns possible only with a lefty.
@Skootur: The Make Lefty Great Again movement was on track until evil private equity ( rusian or chinese we are sure) bought the mothership and is moving it out of the public eye. No Gs will ever be great enough again to get lefties in spandex. I accept defeat humbly this time but will bring back to MLGA in 2024.
I guess it is too early to poke a little fun at Trump based on all the downvotes on my other MLGA posts...
@pink505: Don’t worry about their butthurt. Those of us in Canada, NZ & pretty much the rest of the world can see the funny side of the ‘leader of the greatest democracy in the world’ acting like a 2yr old who’s been told no for the first time. Personally I found your MLGA posts hilarious which is why I joined in...
@Skootur: The United States is a constitutional federal republic, not a democracy. Didn’t want you looking both judgemental and ignorant simultaneously. You’re welcome.
So many of these are people that need to spend more time learning to actually ride a mountain bike rather than focusing on hitting jumps and drops because the cameras rolling. My 11 year old can out-ride most of these people.
Yes!!! As I watch these, I'm always trying to figure out what the hell these riders were thinking? Based on their body positions, over all composure, etc, they are clearly above their "pay grade". What's the deal? Is it because new riders are automatically exposed to "wonder bikes" that can do everything and they are getting to ride these amazing trails and features that just didn't exist when a lot of us started. I started riding back in 97' and while we were all trying to progress it was always at steady rate. Learn A, then B, then C, etc. These riders are just heading for the the first 6' drop they can find and flinging themselves off hoping their fancy 160mm bike will just do the work when they clearly need to go back to a 1' drop and figure it out. End of my "not that old, old guy" rant. haha
@metalvelo: Man who didn't eat shit on an ambitious feature or two when we were younger. Blind confidence isn't new, it's just that everyone didn't have a camera in their pocket to capture the carnage.
Today's group-a bunch of them should have their saddles taken away until they learn to stand up. Most pros couldn't pull off some of the sitting-on-the-high-seatpost moves that were attempted today.
Its funny how people roll off drop features, and I guess expect the bike will level out before the landing on its own, with no effort? I think about this every Friday.
I'm surprised no-one ever references Friday Fails. When I have my next massive crash (statistically I'm about due one), I'm going to make sure I shout "This one's for Friday Fails" as my face burrows into the loam.
Why not have a "wednesday wins" video? You know, where we can show our non-sponsored selves actually making it out of some feature and feeling a sense of accomplishment. We can show that us mortals are capable of more than just crashing on mtbs. Maybe pinkbike doesn't think very highly of us. It's somewhat sadistic watching these. I for one would feel better watching Wednesday wins!
@Gmang: No shortage of anything on youtube. I'm pretty sure there's a good number of riders on here capable of making an entertaining contribution to a weekly reel, and they would be doing it simply because they find it enjoyable. It's pure riding. Also, highly skilled or not, close calls are entertaining. And whats the point of the down vote? I value differing opinions, so heres an up vote, u r welcome.
I´m always confused by the criteria to make it into the Friday fails video because surely some people are cut.or is this just all the pinkers who crashed this past week. As usual some of the crashes were genuinely violent and quite scary the kind of crash that makes you wince watching it. but then its followed by some guy sliding off a dusty trail at low speeds. can someone explain
It’s just a slow process - there’s far more submissions than what actually makes it into the videos. It took a few months for one of my videos to make it in.
Not much by way of criteria. I thinks it's just whatever content they get that is in decent, usable clips. I was included a month or so ago, just sliding off the edge of a smooth trail at a bike park. Other than me making some interesting noises, the crash was exceptionally mild. The win was - the guy I was riding with got *excellent* go-pro follow footage of it, 'cause he happened to be running a chest-mount that day..

RECOUNT!!!

*Dude is still rolling upside down the landing without his bike.*
OOOOHHHuuuh!
Or maybe he was trying to do some kind of roll down move???
Future mullet advocate at 0:50
"hold my beer"
Me thinking: "No man, I'm pretty f*** far from OK"
If you're too young to remember that's a Pulp Fiction quote for you right there!!
It's abundantly obvious that in most of these videos, the rider is definitively not, "good."
the girls laughing is great!
Mom gets it.
Buddies still rolling out of the crash????
