The person who hits a wooden drop by pedaling slowly from a dead stop at beginning of the platform just kills me. I mean.. surely they've watched people do drops before and know that's a bad idea? Yet, I see it on almost every Friday fails.
  • 61 0
What about their "friend" who watched them do it and videoed? Who said "yes, start on the wooden part and pedal slowly off the end, I will video your 'attempt'"...
  • 6 0
How did he think that was going to end?
  • 35 0
I will never get tired of watching tortoise paced drops. So predictable. So rewarding.
  • 4 1
What did they expext to happen when they gotto the end of the trunk? Smile
  • 13 0
One of these days they should throw in an old school 90s wheelie drop, too keep the fires burning for all the people slowly pedalling down bridges and skinnies! Apr1 “Thursday” fails edition??
  • 5 0
@Achilles75: ....on Friday Fails of course!
  • 3 0
He was going for a front flip, but didn’t quite get the execution right....
  • 2 0
You know they were slowly pedaling along thinking this is gonna look so cool!
  • 2 0
while their " friends " film it.

That clip was my local rec center “bike park.” The disservice the builders did with that feature is that there’s not a great or very long approach before the ramp (can’t see in the video) which creates a challenge for a good rider to hit it with proper speed, and creates false expectations for an inexperienced rider that you can just roll in and it’s safe. Add to that the fact that it’s at the community rec center, it’s a recipe for this sort of disaster.

@stylishskier: probably filming 'keen mountain biker' mate
  • 1 0
@stylishskier: dude... yeah. That guy doesn’t need to be in his life anymore. I wonder what he does with his girlfriend when he’s not around
  • 1 0
right? this is where i learned to ride...
  • 1 0
@stylishskier: Sadistic bastard knew what was about to happen...Like Napoleon Dynamite's brother when he electrocuted his balls with the phony time machine!!
  • 134 0
Don't get your mom to film your riding if you're going to crash MATTHEW!!!
  • 15 0
 "OH MATTHEW!"
  • 2 0
and do not exfil via rescue helo
  • 4 0
2:55 think that was ross's mom as well
  • 118 3
You should sneak one Saturday Send in the Friday Fails and one Friday Fail in the Saturday Sends to keep us on the edge of our seats.
  • 11 0
The guy at 2:25 looked like a WC contender for a few seconds. In fact his entry into the woods may feature again tomorrow.
  • 7 0
Dude, at first I skipped over that as just another throwaway idea from the comments section, but then I thought about it again, and you're a freaking genius! That's a brilliant idea, man. In fact, it's such a good idea that once you really think about it, it's almost hard to understand why it hasn't always been how they do things.
  • 2 0
There kinda was one at 2:14.
  • 87 0
 “GoPro, print divorce papers”
  • 45 0
Legend says 2:58 is still rolling to this day.
  • 10 0
 Russ! lol
  • 7 0
 He's actually a soccer player.
  • 25 0
False Advertising! He was riding a STUMP JUMPER! But in fairness... he was off of it when he got to the stump....
  • 13 0
He was actually riding the little known Stump Humper model.
  • 23 0
The final rider in a train is typically where the action is in Friday Fails videos. Nice work to the rider at the end proving the theory wrong.
  • 3 0
I was thinking the same thing, the first rider landing it is usually a given.
  • 1 0
Generally that is me. And I can confirm that this is true.
  • 22 0
is there an unofficial contest going to recreate the title animation?
  • 3 0
PB might have to take em to court. We all know they have solid evidence to support their case.
  • 22 0
 Has anyone heard from Russ?
  • 15 0
 He gone.
  • 5 0
Him and Mathew are rolling down hills together forever.
  • 17 0
The wing flapping at 1:52 got me.
  • 5 0
Right? there was no way he was going to displace enough air to float away from that crash.
  • 3 0
Ah man that was the greatest. I loved the slo mo reply. Bit like that Red Bull Bird man competition where they all leap off a pier and try to fly. I guess he wasn't cool enough for that schralping
  • 1 0
@veero: I like "Bird man", but they call it "Flugtag" (flight day).
  • 1 0
 @barp: that's the one. Couldn't remember it's name.
  • 5 0
hahaha I did the filming and always thought it seemed more like jazz-hands Wink
  • 13 0
dont hit the stump dont hit the stump...dang it also, there appears to be a lot of audible spouse-cam in this episode which is unusual
  • 10 0
2:56 is definitely still falling right now
  • 8 0
ah, to wonder how some folks weren't carried off by eagles at birth (0:17)
  • 6 0
His mates were ass**les. How can you not warn somebody that he's riding 4x too slow???
  • 3 0
@lkubica: this is a hard way to learn the same physics lesson the rest of us did in childhood.
  • 8 0
:44 I'm very curious to see what his face looks like after this
  • 4 0
Same for the dude at 3:29. Happens so quick, you almost miss it.
Any Yeti owners on here that want to help him out, def missing a few teeth...
  • 2 0
@mountainyj: i would be shocked if he was conscious after that. looked like a season ender.
  • 9 1
Still waiting for last week's Saturday Sends
  • 7 0
Going off a drop at 2mph always seems to work out. Every. Damn. Friday. Smh
  • 4 0
Are you shaking your head, or nodding with a smile?
  • 7 0
I have such a dreadfull sense of humor...
  • 5 0
Did the guy at 3:10 say "I'm good", or "i'm dead"? And those guys at 2:40 were just waiting for someone to come around I guess. Still laughing today.

Specialized launches the new Stumpseeker! Order now for 2023 delivery!

My 5 and 8 year olds think FF’s is the best way to start the weekend. I tend to agree.
  • 12 0
Yeah it's my three year old's fourth favourite thing after cake, dinosaurs and taking out his penis in inappropriate places
  • 1 0
 @Linkpin: a budding exhibitionist
  • 1 0
I used to watch every Friday. Now I wait until Monday.
  • 2 0
1:17 - moments earlier, getting some coaching: Ok. You're going to let off the brakes and let the bike roll. You have a clear roll out, the ONLY THING to avoid is hitting the lone stump. It's the only obstacle you need to watch out for.
  • 1 0
Those Hydro berms, amazing! I found myself acting like a true Pacific N.W. MTB'r shaking my head and muttering "drainage, drainage, drainage". Poor Mathew is never gonna' hear the end of that one. Face plant at the plaza, he might see his FF every time he looks in the mirror...
  • 1 0
The dude at 1:05, was that simply a lack of upper-body strength, or did his seat bump him forward at just the wrong time? His skill level looks to be pretty dang similar to mine, yet I've never had that happen. Not sure if it's because I'm strong or lucky.
  • 2 0
It looks like a front brake grab to me
  • 4 0
Most people hit the bottom of the tree. Some people are overachievers. (3:05)
  • 3 0
Remeber, kids, drop off as slow as possible and stiff up even more kissing dirt. Soccer shorts ftw, too!
  • 3 0
Guy at 1:47, was that the sound of a bone breaking? Tell me it could have been something else, please!
  • 4 0
i think that's the sound of his tightened stem breaking tension with the steerer tube
  • 2 0
Nah, it was the sound of his bike taking its last breath. A few hours later the rear triangle snapped and the ol' 2016 transition scout was no more Wink
  • 5 2
Quick @mtb-scotland there are people riding their bikes, you need to form an uneducated opinion and post it.
  • 3 0
You’re two days too early. Your comment is better suited to Sunday Snark.
  • 3 0
At 0:16, I don't think we'll ever see a better example of what NOT to do on a drop.
  • 4 0
I honestly thought he was just going to fall off the ladder and never make it to the drop.
  • 2 0
SO MANY GOOD VIDEOS. I can't pick a favorite. This fails compilation wins for the best diversity of crashes I've seen in a long time. Good job PB.
  • 1 0
I love how the first minute was just laughing, various vocalizations of surprise, and raw trail sounds. No unnecessary screaming oh ----, BRO! and shaking the camera when the dude tips over on a 8" jump
  • 3 0
It’s becoming abundantly clear ... these bikes are out to get us.
  • 3 0
that head into concrete was bunkers! yikes

  • 1 0
I was thinking the same thing!!!
  • 2 0
Wow, there were a lot of straight-up badasses mixed in with the trail-fodder this week. Good job, folks.
  • 2 0
3.29 needs to invest in a full face...... when he gets out of hospital from major facial reconstructve surgery.
  • 1 0
Lmaaooo. All the best bike tech in the world could never teach you the fundamentals. They all need to go ride a stiffy frame first loooool
  • 1 0
They should rename this to "When Bicycles Attack!!" Poor unsuspecting, would be amateurs bucked and mauled by their own rides!!
  • 1 0
Watching Jerry's get bucked OTB, a guilty pleasure that never seems to fade.
  • 2 0
Go to 3:35 to hear the sound my brakes make.

@nozes: true, that was a brutal ragdoll..
  • 3 0
 Oh, Matthew!
  • 1 0
Man, 0:20... he hit that drop so slow I was wondering if he’d pull off the double front flip.
  • 1 0
It is winter, so why not bring on the polar bear challenge?! Brrrr... cold water.
  • 1 0
Went from a genuine LOL @ 2:06 to an Oh shit @ 2:26. Hope that fellow's OK.
  • 1 0
Whoah is that the new Spesh stump thumper at 1:18 that PB can release the review about yet?

Holy shit, that guy at :44. Major broken collar bone right there, at least!!
  • 1 0
1:35 Jump line is going so well and then blines 45 degrees to flat. Best is that the photographer falls over. Classic
  • 1 0
What is your thought process going so slow off that ramp? Had to be playing truth or dare
  • 1 0
"I'll just take it nice and slow and roll down the ramp at the other end of this skinn-NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"
  • 2 0
 What happened to Saturday Sends?
  • 1 0
1:10 the ding-a-ling bell sort of sounded like the pinging warning of impending detonation Razz
  • 1 0
I love the humanity you can see when the cameras turn down in panic after the crashes.
  • 1 0
Guy on 0:20 gained negative distance.
