The north shore ladder drop fail looked savage

It would save a lot of people a lot of time if they simply stayed at home and hit themselves with a hammer.

Trailforks - Please add "Browse by Sketch" to the Trails drop down. We all deserve the chance to film ourselves riding these features!

a ranking system for how many times the trail made it into Friday Fails. I like it.
  • 7 0
@2:42 I do believe we're witnessing history here, first known instance of someone asking the cameraman if they're ok before they can ask if the rider is ok
  • 6 0
can anyone explain the kid riding the wood ramp that was dug into the dirt, but perfectly mimicked the dirt they removed? like, why????? LMAO
  • 1 0
My guess: they used the excavated dirt to build the jump
  • 6 0
Mythical no-footed lander appearance at 2:03
  • 6 0
Extra credit for including the snow bike!

Those things are super fun. We used to be able to ride them at Keystone. Unfortunately, a few jerks ruined it for eveybody by being total idiots and I sincerely apologize.

People should have to demonstrate that they have passed a high school level physics course before being sold a mountain bike.

Next week, everyone move your Friday ride to Saturday. Nobody wreck, everybody sends it and nails the landing. We can beat this Friday curse.

i still wonder what the percentage increase in fail submissions is over the past year? has to be like 345%
  • 3 0
We all know the biggest fail, not turning your phone 90 degrees, and filming in portrait... Get with it people

More OTBs than you can shake a clavicle at.
  • 6 0
I was sensing a fair amount of separated* shoulders in this one.

*Note: I tried four times to spell that on my own and finally had to use spell check.
  • 3 0
@Avanwin: Fair play,I had to check how clavicle was written Big Grin
  • 3 0
 @nozes: double upvote for honesty
  • 6 0
 @Avanwin: there’s always ‘a rat’ in separate

I get so frustrated watching these... Karma kicks in and I end up rag dolling the next several jumps the next time I go out to ride.

Consistently legit fails this week - I think highest cringe factor yet for a FF.
  • 2 0
3:15 - Did anyone check to see if the rider left a farewell note at the top of the cliff?
  • 2 0
Actually that very first one ended better than I expected! I thought he was heading straight to the hospital!!
  • 4 0
I laid on the ground for a minute or two catching my breath, but got up and stomped it two tries later!

Riders that refuses to consider wearing flats ever: "2:04. See. Told you so."
Rider that wears flats: "That's not really how any of this works."

I'm curious what "friends' laugh at you while you just ate some serious dirt and possibly hurt yourself pretty bad ?
  • 2 0
James hung up the mountain board for a snow bike...?
  • 1 0
the guy filming at 2:35 bottom left corner of the screen didn't seem too sure about the perfect camera angle
  • 2 0
When you see an XC bike on a DJ line...
  • 2 0
The guy at 0.56 has to work hard on his aiming!
  • 2 0
Give him credit for the fake out. Looked like it was gonna be the typical low speed nose dive. But he pulled just enough speed at the last second . . . only to miss the landing.
  • 2 0
ya that was an entertaining bail. i thought it was going to be a bad nose dive but no! wheelie into the abyss!

At 2:31 today we will convene the international keep your ass out of the rear tire convention.
  • 1 0
How do we send these in? I have my brothers gopro footage of him sending it off a jump at a bike park into a tree.
  • 2 0
I believe you click "video" at the top of the website, and under quick clips, you'll find crashes
  • 1 0
Man. So many no-holds-barred, completely unencumbered, 60-0 slams this time.

2:44 reminds me of my kids when I ask them if they’re OK. Quickly say “yes”, then start crying and say “noooo”.
  • 1 0
2:09 Those floating OTBers are just absolutely horrific!! That is an automatic hospital trip.
  • 2 0
And a good lesson to not hold the front brake when you’re landing nose first.
  • 3 0
 3:10 had my attention.
  • 1 0
Yeah, that was legit, even if he did crash at the bottom.
  • 2 0
The noise that the guy makes in the first crash makes me chuckle.
  • 1 0
That sound was a yell mixed with all the air leaving my lungs very quickly lol.
  • 2 0
I think some bikes do not like their owners!!
  • 1 0
I’ve never done a backflip, but I know that the key to success is to hit the jump face at the speed of a slow walk.

Pretty clean Ghost Rider dismount @ 1:11
  • 1 0
his leg looks weird in the first clip
  • 2 1
The real Friday fail is how much money I owe in taxes.
  • 1 0
let the clip at 2:05 be a reminder not to ride side saddle
  • 8 11
I understand having a laugh at the small misfortunes or even at bigger crashes, but only after finding out everything is ok. When people just laugh hysterically and continue filming, it's time to reconsider your riding partners.
  • 6 0
I think people's first reactions are the actually the ones that don't matter. It's not like they can do anything to help right away, even if they are injured; if someone gets hurt, it's the process of getting them off the trails for medical attention that matters. That's when you need support from level-headed riding partners. People react weird under stress anyways and everyone is different.

Anyways, the cameraman is supposed to keep filming! That's the point! If I crash and the cameraman doesn't get the clip, I'm going to be even more pissed than if I had landed something sick and they didn't get the clip. Gnarly crashes don't happen every session, and if they don't drop a Friday Fails of my life at my funeral someone is getting haunted.

i agree and do not laugh out loud and I usually never laugh at someone eating dirt. No reason to down vote you here except for those who feel guilty
