Is there a post crash interview where he explains wtf the little pumping mid-air was going to do? or was that his natural fear response to "I'm going to eat shit...hard"?
@DirtBagTim: was going to say - even if he didn't land it, he needs to be on Sat sends, that was HUGE! I'm guessing he went way bigger than he wanted, no way he's landing that if he's going that big.
@Lemmyschild: the worst crashes are the ones where there is enough time before impact for it to sink in that you're f''d, and a world of pain is imminent.
Hugging a tree increases levels of hormone oxytocin. This hormone is responsible for feeling calm and emotional bonding. When hugging a tree, the hormones serotonin and dopamine make you feel happier.
I guess so.
FF should be required viewing for aspiring trail builders. For instance, why put a roller immediately after a landing, so many examples of what not to do.
These videos represent the best of us. A bunch of nerds going full send in the woods with zero F's given.
And that opening send was the thing of nightmares. Stuck up in the air falling with no bottom in sight. Absolutely insane!
1st clip: When you've overshot and see the landing disappear faster than your rate of descent. I'm not a religious man, but I have said a prayer to the trail gods in those moments.
Pretty sure they edited out the part where doggo runs over licks the riders face. "Oh boy, this is my favorite thing, I love mud and I'm glad you do too." Then they both get out of the puddle and doggo shakes himself off on rider and camera man. It's good to be a dog!
That lad shredding through the snow is 100% a send. So sick! And the last slo-mo one is a great example of what happens when you spin too early on a 3.
Absolutely brutal this week....some of those were hard to watch, especially @ 0:50. Also, what in the world was the bike in 0:42...did he launch a steel single speed cruiser?
2:36 is the opening drop to the Boyscout jumps in Pacifica. It's probably about a 5-8 foot drop depending on how far you send it, and has a pretty flat lander. Looks like the dude sent it on a hard tail with locked knees and racked himself, poor dude, also that is some poison oak he landed in. Anyways, that's a super fun jump trail, there is a POV video of it in my profile.
I don’t recall the gap, so why was opener dude going full on peddling. Falling from space was awesome. Longest jump landing area ever. There were no trees on the whole hill side, so he probably could have held on and road it out. Love it!
Good news people. We've brought in a special group of riders that have an uncanny skill for identifying which trees need safety padding for our course. Okay boys, go mark the trees for us, but make sure it's obvious!
These were some of the best yet as a group. I love that they weren't moving very fast and just getting worked. Sprinkle in some tree faceplants and it's a winner.
He clamped down on the bars; unfortunately his hands were wrapped around his brake levers. Same reason we teach to keep your finger away from the trigger until you're ready to shoot
because that was to the moon.
"I'd go to the doctor I needed too, I don't need to right now"...."you've got some serious problems you need to work out with yourself"....
Old Mate might've landed on his wheels but then what?
Similar to Thrasher's "worst skateparks" series, PB should put together a compilation of horribly constructed jumps and trail features.
Also, how did the film my reoccurring nightmare and post it as the first clip? (Even though he crashed, that was still freaking rad)
Rider- "I gotchu"
Agree, why all the front brakes this week?
Gotta tip my hat to the dude - he‘s got balls bigger than mine!
Filmer: OOPS!
