Except, every single time I watch this on my phone I miss the first one while I full screen and rotate the phone to landscape, and need to rewind - and then can't watch the last clip as the 'here, now watch these videos' windows pop up and block the video.... Add some buffers in there Pinkbike!
Someone with a + membership totally needs to start posting a summary of all the paywall articles in the comments of the article right above it. Cheap, stubborn SOBs like me need to know 1. is there room for 2 wheel standards?. 2. Why does Kate love Lea 3. Why did they make monkeys out of brass if cannon ball fell out of them when it got cold?
There is always an apologist for the failed backflips. Something like "this isn't a fail, it is a necessary step in the learning process."
Where is the love for all the failed front flips? 1:27 too slow rotation 1:45 not enough speed 2:22 need more pop and a better tuck 3:06 weight is a too far back to start 3:13 need a bigger stepdown 3:30 and 3:33 initiated too late
Without your support, these guys are never going to land a front flip.
@e-spoke: they're rebuilding some other stuff like the smaller fish ladder / gap just up the road, but yeah over time many of the classic wood features are failing.
I didn't know they were gone, was this the fire or ice storm that took them out? I haven't been up to fall city in a couple of years. The sound he made when he realized he was gonna clear the gap.... damn....
@crustyoldguy: yes the Salad Tosser (big wooden step-up before the road gap) was destroyed in the ice storm in February 2021. The road gap drop that was shown in today's Friday Fails was blocked off and eventually decommissioned by builders, probably around 2018.
Bummed they took those features down, I just got a new bike since that fateful wreck.
Yes it was me, I was the one who wrecked in the original video. Happy to provide some entertainment to the community.
One piece of advice, never utter the phrases, “I’ll hit it one more time or last run of the day”. Nothing good has ever happened after saying stuff like that.
For context:
I Hit it smooth right before that wreck. Buddy wanted to attempt it so I said I’d show him the speed. I uttered that famous phrase, “I’ll hit it once more”.
To the keyboard warriors:
Was I riding something beyond my skill level? no.
Do crashes happen sometimes? Yes, watch any free ride event.
Would 98% of the keyboard warriors ride that feature or something like it? Absolutely not, this is a pro level line built specifically for a MTB movie back around 2006-2009.
Pros crash, I crashed, I’m a pink bike legend, get over it…..
We got a surprising number of sketchy run ins and landings in today's video. Lots of "freeride" kids following the time honored tradition of riding sketchy big drops that still somehow look lame when you get it on camera.
Whose brilliant idea was it to remove all the "oh sh*ts" from every episode? Was the only reason my kids watched. We'd count them and laugh together. Way to ruin it for them and us.
Where is the correct spot to send/upload videos for Friday Fails? I submitted one to the crashes section of the video forum a few weeks ago now. Not sure if they pull from there or there is just a backlog of crashes to get into Friday Fails.
Today's lessons: 1 When you film someone doing a big drop, stay far, far away from the landing. 2:When you do a big drop, prepare for the impact 3: Don't do big drops
Definitely not a fully recycled video from start to end, because I haven't missed a Friday Fails and I'd have noticed the reappearance of the Blackrock Mountain Bike Area (outside Falls City, OR, USA) wreck from 2016.
You're right though that they're clearly harvesting clips from as far back as the old "Pinkbike fail of the month" days.
1:43 If the footage looks that steep, and the bike stopped that far away despite the rider also tumbling... respect for building up the nerve to ride that.
Can someone explain to me WTF was happening at 2:45? Did we flashback to 2001? Forget what a transition is? Who the hell builds a hit like that to flat?
if you're not interested in Beta articles, feel free to turn them off. If you're on mobile, scroll to the bottom and click 'desktop site', then go to your profile > edit profile > news settings to find all the available filters.
@brianpark: change request: can you turn them off for us all please to save us time. You could even use it as a marketing campaign for Pinkbike with a new banner. 'Pinkbike' now with even less Beta articles!
@brianpark: I love so much about what you guys do, so thank you. But can you please do something about the ads where businesses post a ton? Currently, it's a multi-step process to look at each ad category and click to see only owner ads. I would actually prefer that there be a cap on the number of ads businesses can run.
@rrolly: Sorry, didn't immediately realize you were talking B&S, this thread is kinda going on a tangent. I don't know what you're looking for in there but I don't usually see too many things posted by shops. Maybe I don't shop enough.

Been a while since I could go through one of these video's without cringing and wondering if the rider actually will ever walk again.
Famous last words.
I'll remember that the next time I fall flat on my back from 10 feet up. I'm sure I'll feel a lot better.
I get that 20" ain't dead and all, but c'mon!!!
