@krka73 Yeah wasn't great but I think I got lucky. Pretty bad concussion and a sore shoulder. Oh and snapped brake lever, but other than that all good.
@mi-bike: It's hard to tell if it was a rock or tree initially. Stupid Google makes things hard to see especially when there's no slow-mo control and the play/pause is on the far left side of the screen. But you're right it's a tree that he hit. Still hurts like a MOFO!
This week featured a greater than usual proportion of actually skilled riders rolling the dice and losing, as opposed to total newbs getting bucked over the bars. I found it enjoyable.
You guys really need to start doing compilations of Friday Fails, Saturday Sends and Sunday Saves. Would make for interesting viewing not knowing how a clip was going to pan out.
Ideally with fresh clips, but perhaps a Christmas/New Year mashup of the clips from the last 12 months.
It's it amazing when the cameraperson zooms in on the crashed rider at the end of the clip. In the event you find yourself filming a crash, stay calm, follow the action, and zoom like a Steven Spielberg movie when they come to a stop.
Dunning Kruger (look it up) in full effect - always shocks me seeing the number of riders riding above their pay grade, hitting stuff that takes most folks a handful of years to work up too.
@ShawMac: Agreed. That was a master class at fail documentation. You're not doing anything helpful by asking "You good?" or dropping the camera to get there before the dust even settles. The damage is done, might was well keep recording for a sec.
Real lack of committment this week by many of the riders. But redeption arrived in the committment shown by their filming friends. We all know that as a filmer you have a DUTY to your PB community to carefully zoom on your buddy's carcass before ruining the shot by running to help them out.
@Jackjackson: Good to hear man, that looked brutal... stuffed your shoulder into that tree with all your momentum behind it, I thought for sure that was a hospital trip crash.
@MartinKS: exactly, you gotta pump the backside of the homies rib cage so you don't case the next feature. They won't be mad as long as you land it clean.
@RobotSaucissonCop: 100% unrelated, I am moving to France as a far-too-comfortable westerner and I only figured out half of your comment without help. I have some learning to do, haha!
Ideally with fresh clips, but perhaps a Christmas/New Year mashup of the clips from the last 12 months.
Please keep filming each other Broped riders!!!
It was a hard hit
"Uah... ARG!... aaaauuUUUGH.. UAHHHH!"- Perfection. (I make the same kind of noises haha)
2:00: Fully concussed
2:08: Fully dismembered?
Merci, bonne journee!
