Hey guys I'm the person in the video, for some reason Pinkbike didn't also post the other angle I included of the crash so here is the full thing: www.pinkbike.com/video/551518 And for those wondering I'm all good now, didn't break any bones but had a couple months off the bike since I knocked myself out, but I'm back riding again.
@Cheeky-Greeky: Seriously bro that's good to hear. I've always imagined racers at speed hitting something as solid as that rock would be very fortunate to walk away with their life. Hope you're back to riding!
I'd love to see a whole week of water-related fails. That 1:23 pond/marsh crossing at mach-chicken speed attempt was really refreshing to watch on a hot summer day.
For the chap @ :31, he's smart for having chest and back protection. And 1:56 the rider seemed to have the proper backward position - maybe didn't hold it long enough? That was odd.
One day bikes might have accelerometers and some mechanism to reverse thrust for casing, and general OTB conditions.
The guy @ :31 is my buddy i actually filmed that. I thought he would be messed up but just bruised his hand, never seen a scarier fall in person. wear you protectors people!!!
@rallyimprezive: the vid doesn't do it justice of course but that section is close to 40-45* & right next to where i was standing was a big hole and it bucked him super bad.
I’m always fascinated how many ride without knee protection. Don’t wanna know how few can enjoy the rest of the ride nor how they walk when they’re in their 30s.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
"OOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
"That's a bad idea! Don't try it!"
If riders heed this advice, Friday Fails as we know it dies, and none of us want that.

I am hopeful that Ive learned my lesson about that without ever doing it myself.
