Some says he is still nose manualling @3:28

 To infinity and beyond!

For sure my favourite, the absence of any commentary and just having the audio to leave us guessing at how big the fail ended up being.

The tree stumps one filled me with horror, that could have been so much worse!!!
  • 4 4
That made me uncomfortable. Would take 15 minutes to cut those flush. Maybe intended as a trail feature?
  • 7 3
@Aeyogi: I don't think that's how clearcutting works. Then are they also going to remove all the rocks, sticks and anything else off the side of every trail just in case someone might crash into it? It could take more than 15 minutes to make the mountain into a parking lot.
  • 7 5
@noapathy: Something that obviously dangerous, and easy to remove as a stump? If you are not going to grind or pull the stump, it takes almost no time to to cut these down. What do I know? maybe it adds to the fun to have "death spikes" adjacent to the trail?

@Aeyogi: You're looking at this from the perspective of this single clip and making a statement about all cut trees needing elimination. It's just not practical to do it to hundreds / thousands to sanitize the entire area (along with any other sharp/hard objects as mentioned before). Or you could be right. Let's cover the planet in bubble wrap to keep everyone safe. LOL

He would have easily rode away from that if he was riding a Stumpjumper...

Me yelling at screen: Stump... STUMP!!!... STUMPS!!!!!!!

It looked to me like that section at Leogang, not sure if it was or not.
  • 2 0
@commental: agreed- and yes, I have watched far too much UCI DH.
  • 2 0
@Aeyogi: mountain biking is already dangerous there is no point in removing stumps when there are already much more dangerous obstacles
  • 2 0
@MTBER12: No mate, we want smooth motorways with all rocks, roots and other potentially dangerous obstacles removed. Any trees within 10 metres of any trail should have padding and anyone who builds anything that doesn't comply should be sued. As it's Pinkbike I should probably point out that this is sarcasm.
  • 3 0
@commental: I feel sarcasm is dangerous, and should therefore be removed. (this comment may also be considered sarcastic and subject to removal)
  • 3 2
@Aeyogi: I agree. Common sense to remove something that could cause a devastating injury, especially so close to a landing or obstacle that causes people to get a bit squirrely. This is not the same thing as removing everything from the side of a track, before the hard of thinking join in.

Thought dude was about to launch into orbit off the back of that wood berm, Jesus that would've been major.
  • 3 1
Never fun to think you're gonna watch a guy die.

No hander, front tuck, to ball smack - lets see Brandon Semenuk do that!

Anyone who takes their hands off the grips deserves what comes next. Its not even impressive when they pull it off... the risk reward is not worth it!

I thought nearly the same thing, I thought tuck to front flip tuck Smile

There were some Giant™ crashes this week!
  • 2 1
Like how Giant’s warranty coverage has crashed in the last few years.
  • 1 0
@wyorider: still waiting on my frame replacement from Giant...broke it in May
  • 13 0
It doesn't count as going green if the only thing you recycle is content...
  • 10 0
The fall on Schleyer within the first 30 seconds was really hard to watch.
  • 2 0
 Agreed
  • 1 0
 Full bare hand hit...ouch.
  • 1 0
Yeah man two and three were really savage.
  • 1 0
I´ve seen the wooden brigde and was like noooo not here
  • 8 0
launch to sharp right hander into wallride looks like things could have ended much much worse
  • 3 0
or much better....he could have just rolled into it and launched it with the biggest turn down whip you've ever seen.....nevermind, you are right
  • 6 0
Opening clip was harsh. Lack of content this week as most clips were repeats. Also, 2:56, take your hand off the lense! We missed the best part.

Was the big boy trying to do a back flip on that jump @1:37? Good for him.
  • 4 0
That flip has been in Friday Fails before. One other clip in there has been too.
  • 4 0
I feel like I’ve seen every single one of these crashes already on previous Friday fails.
  • 2 0
Danny Macaskill entered the chat at 2:45.

Also enjoyed the segment that just showed a static shot of the trail, with tree crashing sounds in the background. Very atmospheric.

Is that Minnaar filming at ~0:53?
  • 3 0
3:23 explodes in Leogang stump section -> bursts in laughs.
People are awesome.
  • 3 0
The slow motion one! Insult added to jnjury with the wheel getting him in the nuts at the end. Yessss!
  • 1 0
What's going on @ 3:26. It seems like he setup the camera to demonstrate 100% lack of prep when going over drops / jumps. Hope he's OK.

And the rest were particularly rough - esp the tree impacts. O.O
  • 4 0
Oh yeah, I'm good... Definitely good...
  • 3 0
The trees & stumps are out for blood!
  • 1 0
@1.49 I'm not sure which is worse. Avoiding the scorpion, but taking a dh bike to the dick? Or just taking the scorpion with said dick intact. Ouch.
  • 1 0
Many times, I don’t know which is worse: the sound of the wreck, or the sound of the high pitched prepubescent forced laughs that frequently come from the videographer…
  • 2 0
3:26, Legend has it, he's still going!
  • 2 0
Don't buy used bike parts or kidneys off that first guy
  • 1 0

So many trees! Don't worry though. Ian's gotten revenge on a lot of them this week (wishing everyone there well, too).
  • 1 1
1:25: a wallride is not an Ibis. It will not do the job of turning for you.
Seriously though, I'm glad it was just the bike that went over hte edge.

 "I think so...I think so..."

That's just the concussion talking.
  • 1 0
Definitely some encores there from previous FF. But that shows the impact these have on me.
  • 1 0
For any American struggling to understand the regional dialect, "Y'orrright?" is northern English for "you good?"
  • 1 0
Quite a few trees were injured in the filming of these clips
  • 1 0
"yeeew! yaaaa! oh...ahhh, you ok" - sounds of the Friday fails
  • 1 0
people roll pretty funny when they have a BMX background!
  • 1 0
Damn.... there were a few hard slams in there.
  • 1 0
I think @1:35 dude was for the third time...
  • 1 0
3:15, what was he thinking? I'm stumped.
  • 1 0
I'm just here for the BMX background comments...
  • 2 1
Can we all agree that the tree always win?
  • 2 0
Sorry.. fat fingers I have a 400mm rod in my tibia that agrees
  • 1 2
Fitting it's Giant that had an ad at the start-since every Reign 29 Advanced I've seen has failed. And Giant has failed to warranty them.
  • 1 1
To be fair, they’ll do a “crash replacement” on one frame. When the next one breaks-nope!!

Because apparently “crash replacement” is shorthand for any frame failure. And underbuilt bikes aren’t considered defective.
  • 1 0
 Bunch of tree hugging hippies
  • 1 0
Can we just first check if someone's "good" before asking "you good"?!
  • 1 0
I spy an iconic Durango ditch
  • 1 0
 Lol
  • 1 0
 Trees!
  • 1 1
That sound at 3:10 reminds me of something I don't want to admit
  • 1 0
 Savage opener this week!
