I've wondered that a lot, honestly. As a dad of 4 and hobbyist MTBer, I know I've had to tame my riding back b/c I was getting injured too often. I hope the folks in these videos are okay.
@nickgarofalo: I also think that some of the ones that look really bad sometimes don't actually end up super bad and some of the ones that look not bad end up worse than you'd expect.
Good lord some of those were savage. The blue Trek piledriving down into the ground at 0:18 and the chap careering off into the sharp rocky stuff at 1:10 must have had severe concussions and broken bones, hope they were ok. Jeez.
I had same thought and took a closer look, rider brings right hand to helmet to do something (?tear-off?) and never manages to get hand back on handlebars. Looks like they're trying to clear their vision. Couple left handed oversteer with no vision and you get a simple ride off the trail and fold your wheel. Would like to know the backstory.
@potato: I had a bumblebee fly into my mouth and sting my tongue while hammering on a road bike and I probably would have ridden straight into a semi during that 20 seconds. Plausible theory.
@Mtmw: I didn't get stung, just a freakout think, slow crash and took my helmet off. You should of just chewed him up, ...won't my mommy be so proud of me... bumblebee song.
Actually, I don't have any friends to ride with or film.
Is that what progression sounds like?
