That's funny, because I thought this one was brutal. I think the state of mind you're in when watching FF has a lot to do with how severely you perceive these falls. I've noticed my own reactions to them vary greatly even when the content isn't that different.
Frickin news flash.. when removing a fallen tree cut the trunk as far away from the trail as possible. Why leave a foot diameter stump at bar or femur height baffles me. If the so called trail fairy’s make the effort to carry a chainsaw into the woods at least do the job properly.
Which one are you talking about? Forest service has regulations that don’t allow you to do any saw work outside of a few feet from the trail. Pretty stupid but they may have cut it as far out as they could, especially if it was done with a legit trail crew and a supervisor
@olafthemoose: mate I’ll just clarify, at around 2:13 it looks like somewhere in Australia going by the looks of the trees. It’s a common problem around here on the south coast especially when stumps are being concealed by ground cover ferns.
I dont think I've had as many physically cringy reactions to some near misses....That spikey tree at :55, that long shot at 1:52...you could just see those trees coming at your head
People decide they are crashing before it's mandatory. IMO one of the key skills of an experienced rider is staying cool and simply reacting to what's happening instead of going limp on the bike. You can see some of the riders do this and only bail when they know they can't save it.
Guy on 2nd clip is so awkward landing and coming into that gap, like dude, it's okay to not full send every time... but then we wouldn't have FridayFails I guess!!
Every time I watch Friday fails a small pixilated chuck Norris comes out of the bushes or flying across the screen wreaking havoc on mnt the rider in the vid. Is that weird?
"So cruise the step-down, then sneak in 3 or 4 quick pedals?"
"Yep, otherwise you don't have enough speed to clear it."
And at :50, wouldn't that count as a save or is sacrificing your bike an automatic fail?
Poor fellow didn't stand a chance
Thumbs up.
