The biggest fail this week is the MID VIDEO RANGE ROVER COMMERCIAL.
Is it possible to buy negative range rovers? Because I'd like to do that.

It was a Rouvy ad for me

Agreed..Ranger Rover is doing a great job selling me a Jeep

tip...start video...scroll to comments as soon as commercial comes on....go back to video when you hear the commercial ending Wink

 Try Brave as a browser
  • 4 0
Just watch on you tube now to avoid that BS, and comment in PB, best of both worlds!
  • 21 1
get an ad blocker its 2024
  • 4 0
It’s probably always a Range Rover ad because (if I had to guess) a large portion of PB viewers are in the target audience demographic that Range Rover wants to market to.

That ain’t me, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this was the case.

@knut42: Same, I have wondered shat you guys are talking about and then realize I use Brave.

@Portland-maine : This thread post is the first fail of 2024!!! Time to buy a Range Rover or a get a new browser and ad blocker. Choice is yours

I learned a new thing, though: people who buy Range Rovers are the same people who put jackets on their dogs. In Texas.
  • 2 0
@VtVolk: I am guessing that most of them are the on site mechanics to keep those imposter Rovers running. No easy feat.

And the visit Denver video at 1:44 that you can't skip.....forced watching.

Literally one of the worst vehicles made. One of the highest fail rates of any SUV. Advertised as an off roaders dream machine but sold to wealthy soccer moms who want to look cool going to Starbucks for a Chai Latte....
  • 1 0
@joecrosby: How can any Pinkbike member afford to buy a Range Rover? When our car has cost more than our bikes and gear, as riders we have failed.....
  • 2 0
@brooklyn1: haha, I hear ya. Only up until about 2 years ago, I always had a bike worth more than my car. But I was tired of breakdowns, and I wanted something decent to put my kids in, so here I am.

Maybe I can use this as a point to convince my wife to let me buy a couple more bike? “Babe, I’m not a true mtber anymore! The truck is worth more than my bikes!” I think she’ll be on board?

Biggest fail today is apparently the number of people still using the internet sans ad-blockers.
  • 2 0
This post should sit right at the top!
  • 3 0
Here's the deal though... You can gauge interest and views on PB articles by the number of comments. Fails used to have comments in the hundreds. Ever since the ads... no bueno. Better business to roll with the banner ads and more views.

My favorites are the ones where it’s obvious that the rider is going nowhere near fast enough to clear a big jump and they awkwardly and abruptly smash into the face of the landing.

I have definitely never done that myself in Spokane or Whistler or Green River or Durango or Highland. Nope.

 #21 - well that didn't take long...
  • 4 0
Not the worst but definitely my favorite.
  • 2 0
 That escalated quickly :-)

I could hear the empty beer bottles clinking in his pack. It was the sound of pre-destiny...
  • 2 0
Indeed. I never understand why people don't give themselves a run up to anything. Time to assess line or entry, time to clip in, time to reconsider...

Why does the guy in #3 have a graphics card on his hand?
  • 5 0
to protect his wrist from screen tearing
  • 8 0
@tacopop: That landing must have subjected him to some extreme GeForces
  • 3 0
Because it is not his first rodeo...
  • 7 0
 #2--Human cannonball!
  • 3 0
Don't tell me that this man didn't hurt himself. That landing on the back was brutal.

How many times have we seen #14? Many folks riding WAY over their abilities.
  • 3 0
You have never held onto a tree while doing a track stand before hitting a steep chute/drop before?
  • 2 0
He looked pretty serious about it too!

Wow #3 already had a wrist brace on. I thought he would have learned his lesson on those unnecessary brake checks by now.
  • 2 0
Does anyone know what the brand is of that wrist brace? Looks unusual and I am curious if it has benefits beyond the braces I have tried. Thanks.
  • 1 0
Good eye. Gotta love the JRA fail
  • 2 0
 @shortsguy1: Mobius X8 Wrist Brace White/Yellow
  • 3 0
@IMeasureStuff: Thank you! I would have never found that myself.
  • 3 2
Dear PB, Thank you for the gift of this poll. But since we can have it all, can you please switch "worst" to "favorite" or "funniest" or provide multiple polls? Maybe you were planning on changing it up on the weekly... I dunno. Thanks for considering.

#2 All I could hear in my head was Flight Control calling out booster separation.
  • 3 0
The biggest fail happened between #12 and #13
  • 2 0
Let’s go with, what is, the filming for #15, Alex?
  • 1 0
Friday fails pathetic edition. Never seen so many people that shouldn't ride a bike.
  • 1 0
2 was the worst crash. 8, with the guy jumping the little kid's bike, was my favorite hands-down
  • 1 0
#9 - I'm so sick of seeing this... GIVE UP! You have literally none of the skills required to ride safely...

Outdoor ruined Friday Fails! I’m out
  • 1 0
#7 for me, we have all been there, lol.
  • 1 0
Biggest fail is Outside buying PB. Mostly kidding. Mostly.
  • 1 0
I voted #7, that one tickled me Smile

Fail of the week was the add placed at the mid point of the video. Couldn't be bothered to finish the video with that kind of interruption.
  • 3 0
Another thread post fail of 2024!!! Time to buy a Range Rover or a get a new browser and ad blocker. "Add" the choice to your list in this new year!
  • 1 0
I'd avoid watching TV if I were you, it would drive you crazy.
  • 2 0
 @kevinturner12:
Lol. Happy for streaming services.
  • 1 0
@CSharp: I'm willing to be the dumb one here, didn't know there were add blockers that would block in video adds.
Also were your adds Range Rover? I'm getting some smart trainer program like Zwift.

@crazy-canuck: Ditch Chrome and/or Edge browsers. Go with a more private browser. I'm not going to even endorse any brands except to just remove Chrome and even Edge browsers from your computer if you can (unless if you're OK on sending your info to Google all the time). Disable the Chrome browser on Android devices. Disable the Safari browser in iOS.

Just do some research on the "best private" browsers. Here are 3 browsers that I suggest you could do your research on and don't be afraid to try them out and don't be loyal to any brand of browsers: Brave, FireFox, DuckDuckGo - these are in no particular preference order.

Then, add an ad blocker for even more ads and popup blocking. Here are some ad/popup blockers you can use: AdGuard, Adblock Plus, uBlock Origin, etc.

Just note that DuckDuckGo browser is not a Chromium-based browser and doesn't support extensions that you can download ad blockers like Chromium-based browser such as Chrome, Edge, and Brave. I can confirm that Brave browsers work to block Youtube ads in all OS environments (Windows, iOS, Android) without using any ad blocker extension except for the Amazon FireOS, which is Android 7 (FireStick Lite) or 9 (FireStick 4K and 4K Max). I'm not sure why the sideloaded Brave browser doesn't block out Youtube ads 100% of the time. I'm guessing that the version I sideloaded doesn't have all the uBlock Origin's filtering list.

Again, if you've read the past 2-3 previous Friday Fails before the New Year, all these were posted before. What's funny about all this is that I was at my family's Christmas dinner. 2 of my uncles kept saying the same thing about those annoying Youtube ads. So, I installed the Brave browser on their Android phones. I was like Santa Claus that Christmas Eve! I hope this helps you and hope to prevent annoying ads from coming up in your browsers ever again. Happy New Year!
