Is it just you or are people getting worse at riding. Maybe we need to back to steel hardtails with no suspension since all these improvements clearly are not working.
@tbmaddux: I love that the trail description actually warns of this feature: "You will want to scout this next one. A large ladder drop to pavers, followed by a quarter-pipe step-up gap back to the peak of a hill"
I've never seen someone launch that far over that jump!! Definitely need to check your speed there. My first time through there my buddy said "no brakes" and I nearly did what this poor guy did.
@reximus42: Yeah I don't hit that sequence, but clearly the entrance is awkward and twisty for a reason. It looks like he may have gone all the way down to the takeoff of the drop below, or worse.
You know it was a great summer when, 1) You know not one, but three riders in the videos 2) You recognize a half dozen trails because you rode them recently 3) You weren't a participant in friday fails
Ya, it seems like it'd take some ego to want to watch your own face for that long. That said, it was one of the most hilarious fails in the clip this week, so I'll take it.
Good jump technique - transfer off the jump - pump into it but pull up off of it then center yourself for the landing. The guys who nosedive push into the jump (or just ride into it) get taken by surprise or poorly time it or just never pull up off of it and are forward when they go off the lip.
@Jvhowube: Don't pull up, your arms aren't equal strength so you will often unbalance yourself. if your suspension is set up right and you preload correctly, the bike will do the work
In the most simple terms, squat down as you approach the jump, stand up as your bike leaves the lip. This separates the upward force of the bike from your body. The nose dive occurs when the energy from the back wheel (being the last thing to leave the lip) is transferred through your legs rotating you forward.
@Pedro404: Pumping with your legs is great advice but make sure you read all the way to the end of the article! If you pump too early the suspension will totally unload and kick you forward onto the front wheel.
What was he thinking? It was pretty obvious that he would hit him long time before. Initially I thought that he would jump over Rider2. But Rider2 couldn't go nowhere else. The trail was the landing of the jump
Freaking love it! Took 2 dirt naps out of my last three rides, one of them a bonafide JRA OTB. I popped up and yelled "You've got be kidding me, come on!" Now I know the JRA thing is a real phenomenon!
It's not rebound that's the problem, I run very fast rebound and love to jump. It's about learning proper jumping technique (center body position, compress in the bottom of the lip and pull on the take off).
He got "cut of the year" at the clinic according to the doctor we saw. Cut his left forearm down to the bone from wrist to mid forearm. No other real injuries though. 16 stitches later
@onecutmedia: Sorry, bad pun... I meant ie: you asked "I wonder how many cuts he got?" Then gnarcissist said he got cut (singular) of the year. Cut his forearm to the bone but no other injuries. So I made a play off of that and your username... it also fits onecutmedia b/c that was one take. One physical cut, one video "cut", onecut... anyways. A joke that bad deserves no laughter, I forgive you.
Friday Fails Is a family favourite of ours. Unfortunately the language in the last few episodes and especially this one means we will no longer be able to enjoy this as a family. PinkBike, can we not bleep out some of the language?
Rather than have them bleep the bad words, why don't you just turn off the sound? Then don't ever go outside because the world is a scary place with scary words.

Why would you want to crash your own bike like that?
Lol. Demos or rentals, ride 'em hard and put 'em away wet.
Think you're reading a bit too much into the comment, Mr. tkrug.
Starting to think you might be a shop owner that has had his demos trashed....
1) You know not one, but three riders in the videos
2) You recognize a half dozen trails because you rode them recently
3) You weren't a participant in friday fails
hahaha!
Step 2: make sure you aren’t riding a two wheeled pogo stick
Rider 2: “get off my back...”
Then don't ever go outside because the world is a scary place with scary words.
