I feel like if you're working on back flips, or hitting 30-ft gaps, and you don't make it you shouldn't be considered a failure... that level of progression is in a very different realm than the person on a hardtail that rolls 5mph into a 1-ft drop and buries the front wheel...
Yeah, a lot of these dudes know how to fall, which TBH I'm happier seeing. When you watch someone crash on these things and immediately know that they're going to the hospital it's kinda sad.
Sometimes it's good to see what can go wrong and learn from it, in other words, see why I'm too much of a wuss to attempt it.
Props to them for progressing our sport!
Dude! He tried to take that whole thing sitting down! He lost a foot on the middle of the drop in and never really got back in control, then hits the jump still sitting.... WTF Josh?!!
Voting for a "Saturday Saves" compilation... some of these are so close to a save - there's got to be some good footage of people who (barely) pull through.
I generally don’t understand why people are wetting their pants on crabapple. Dreamline looks like the last test before going to try stuff at fest series. And they seem to have taken away that insane roadgap anyways
Not quite as bad as the last several weeks.
Watching someone learning three's is generally scary... Over the years I've gone horse from screaming 'turn your head!'. I've never done one on a big wheel bike, but I imagine it's not super fun trying to muscle the bike around without turning your head
1. i don't understand why dudes who are in the middle of a backflip bail if they know they're within reach. not talking about clearly over-rotating obviously. never done one outside of a diving board, but seems like you can compensate better than any other trick. if you've got the balls to send it, why not land it? genuinely inquisitive.
2. if your buddies are saying you're gonna die while they film you, they ain't your buddies.
@BigAlfonz: You're probably right. My guess was just from 1 quick watch before work, and seeing people in the classic "holding my arm across my body" position. Brings back bad memories...
Front wheel making it 25 feet on a 30 ft gap before bike and rider explode in spectacular fashion = fail.
He was too short, would case rear ...., but saves the day )
But dream line is WAY bigger and with zero margin for error.
That faceplant at 3:23 looked pretty rough, I suspect a concussion from that.
3:27...where'd he go? Massive overshoot, not a word from the filmer.
2. if your buddies are saying you're gonna die while they film you, they ain't your buddies.
Would be better to say, "walk it off." or "rub some dirt on it."
Hurt my ac join a bit but was only about a half way down Snowdon so had to ride on the rest of the way down lol
I have video of me crashing in exactly the same place a few years back. It's gnarly.
For sure, nothing else like it
I don't know how a fella is going to backflip playing music like that.....I bet he gets it when he fires up Metallica Fight Fire with Fire.

Also, why are people that really don't know how to mountain bike, trying to catch crazy air??
