 One thing I definitely DONT want is i 9 hubs. And a 160 fork on a 170 bike.

 Honestly. Worst customer service experience I’ve ever had was with I9. I make an effort to buy made in NA products when I can, but never again.

 @khakifantastic: What ever issue they had with the axles snapping is fixed it appears. Had several (Torch and Hydras) over the years. Newest set of Hydras on the enduro (riden two years expert level) and my DH bike (two years endless laps at Trestle before I left Colorado and few Whistler trips)....zero issues other than bearing refreshess.

The axles breaking won’t ever be fixed as it’s essentially a design flaw. I am only 64kg so instead of axles breaking, the pockets that the pawls rest in would wear out. Which is even worse because I was buying a new freehub every season. I will also second the worst customer service ever. I was ghosted for 2 months, conveniently during the time my warranty lapsed.

 Generally agree, as I've seen some folks with snapped axles. One friend broke 5 over a year and a half! However, I weigh 220, and have a 4 year old hydra on a singlespeed, and a 3 year old hydra on an enduro bike, never even serviced them, I just check bearings every winter. That said, I am glad to see WR1 move more towards DT. You cant go wrong really.

 @Planetx888: I once noticed and pointed out to a guy that his I9 stem face plate was cracked completely through before he was about to drop into a 2000' double black descent. He went down the fire road and I took mental note not to ever put one of those stems on my bike or someone I care for.

 @Planetx888: I also recall in a recent podcast WR1’s Dustin Adams talking about them developing their own hubs. It will be interesting to see what they come up with. Project 321’s Gen 3 hub seems to be nearing release too, and looks awesome. I’m excited to give them a try.

 @khakifantastic: i9's are goofy as hell and way over hyped. On my last bike I had spank 359 vibrocore wheels and let me tell ya, they were FANTASTIC. Great engagement, sound, and the ride quality was something. Lovely. First ride on my enduro 305's and I snapped 5 spokes. BOOTY.

 So much this. My warranty experience with I9 has been great, but ive needed it waaayy too much. In 3 years ive toasted 2 free hubs and stripped the drive ring out of a hub shell. Poor design chasing weight instead of reliability’s. Love the high engagement, but next hubs will be king or dt. Not sure about ratchet exp, but only thing ive never broken is OG star ratchet.

 @dustgry: I will back them up on this, they got me a replacement axle so fast. I know it is not always the case but they did great.

I've had excellent service from them and the one warranty claim they fixed the hub shell and rebuilt the wheel. I only buy their 1/1 hubs because they are affordable, not overly loud, and last with minimal maintenance. I had some torch hubs (on wheels) I sold after 10k miles of use and they still worked perfectly. That said, there are lots of high engagement hubs now.... And personally I don't really think I would have a different ride experience on a DT hub with a 54t ratchet or a decent OEM hub.

 @dustgry: P321 hubs were a "harsher toke" for me. Had a few, never broke em, but one never rolled well no matter what I did, the other creaked like a velociraptor.

@phalley: Ive also broken the faceplate on a nice expensive i9 stem, and have seen 1 other, similarly in a place where my friend did not want to discover a cracked stem. No fire road, just a long boring ride out.

havent heard about a wr1 hub, I'll reserve judgement, and also perhaps wait for you to be the test pilot on that!

 @dustgry: I had a free hub issue, Sent Photos, Had a quick call and the new part was in the mail at no expense to me. I had it in 4 days.

 Could have guessed you're from the US even without the flag icon! Preschool is absolute murder on finances, and the teachers still get paid shit. We're number one... at having the worst childcare!

 @justinfoil: Sadly, I'm not sure it's better in Canada. There are some jurisdictions that have $10/day childcare, but even then there are very few funded spots. Most of us are paying hundreds of dollars per month, even for after school care.

 Kids in North America aren't even learning anything useful in school. I think homeschooling is the smarter play for the foreseeable future. Until public school is reworked to look completely different.

 @toooldtodieyoung: Only paying hundreds of dollars a month sounds like a dream. Finally got our son into a daycare after a couple years on waitlists and paying a nanny about $4,200/month…now spend about $2,500/month. Kid #2 is on the way…and we’re moving to Europe.

 Bars are part of "touch points". Rise and both sweeps are all personal.

This also doesn't seem so much like an "option" as the only choice now. The only other "option" on the site for anything more than the roller is an SP1 Special Edition, and it's out of stock in every travel. Is this really just that they can't get all the other stuff? And bars are included because it's their own bar...

 I suspect the decision to include bars and stem is because these are WeAreOne’s own parts (Da Bar & Da Stem) so it increases sales for these components and thus increases overall margin (profit) on the ‘rolling chassis’ product.

For what it’s worth, I did a test run on them last year at Crankworx and they appeared to dampen some of the vibrations compared to what i would expect from an aluminum bar, but I do prefer the compliance of my OneUp Components bars so your point remains valid.

 @cwatt: There was a 3rd party compliance test between a bunch of bars and DaBar had more compliance than the Oneups. Another recent test by a Quebec engineering firm found the Oneups to be right in the middle of a bunch of handlebars. Also, might be your wording, but the WAO bars are carbon, not aluminum.

 Carbon fabricator here, bit of a dogpile but to elaborate on the other commenters: the epoxy that bonds carbon fiber for high stiffness high strength uses like a bike - this epoxy is subject to yellowing / browning in UV exposure. Many resins are sold as "UV resistant" and most are basically lying. Clear coat makes better UV protection, it gets painted on, and it comes in a version where it hardly announces the existence of any film at all and looks almost like the bare carbon underneath. As others have said, the specific phrasing you quoted was, yeah, pretty weird...

 I9 101 hubs have been bombproof for me on two bikes for several years and hundreds upon hundreds of miles. Just because of some Hydra issues (when first released as I understand it) it’s a bit harsh to bury the whole company over. And in my experience, their customer service has been excellent, when rarely needed. In an industry of faceless PON-like holding companies, i9 is still a place with real people making real things in Murica. Gotta give them credit for that.

 Shout to spank wheels and hubs for amazing customer service. They fixed up twice while managing a shop and my suppliers let me down. Without mentioning I worked in a shop or knew the distributors.
