The XCC Short Track racing kicks off the penultimate weekend of World Cup racing in 2023. The U23 riders were the first on the Snowshoe course as we saw another win for Ronja Blöchlinger and Riley Amos top the podium on home soil.

A day later it was the Elite Women's turn to take on the challenging Snowshoe course. Evie Richards played a clever race dropping the hammer on the final lap to cross the line five seconds ahead of Puck Pieterse. Rebecca Henderson had a great ride ending the day with third.

Next up was the Elite Men and it was Victor Koretzky who once again led a French top-two as he went fastest in XCC for the second time in a row. Jordan Sarrou also matched his Les Gets result as he went two seconds back from Victor. Luca Schwarzbauer continues a great season of XCC racing with a third-place finish.

The elite and U23 have a short rest before the XCO action gets underway on Sunday.

Super solid photos! Seems like more Speshy pros are racing the Epic Evo then the WC model. Koretsky at least

Unless it's a custom paint job they don't make the EVO frame in that Colorway. Which would make it a regular Epic frame with the Brain removed and the Flight Attendant gear in its place.

 Looks like regular Epic.

Most of the top Specialized racers (Koretzky and Batten) avoid the WC model.

@PapaStone: Koretsky just won the Olympic test race on a WC last week.

Sagan raced in Glasgow on "EVO" as well...

Yep, the team has raced the Epic Evo far more than the Epic WC this year. The “regular” Epic is not raced anymore by the team. The frame is not sold in this color way to the public but the team does custom paint, anyways. The front triangle is the same between Epic and Epic Evo, just a different rear end. The Epic Evo frameset is actually lighter than the WC frameset.

@pedalingbobby: I had forgotten about the shared front end.
The regular Epic's HTA is 67.5*, the EVO is 66.5*. So they're getting that 1* difference out of the rear triangle That's very interesting considering the BB Height is Higher on the EVO. 336mm vs, 324mm.

It's also interesting that they're using a Stock Epic paint job as a Custom Epic EVO paint job...

@martin737: Easy to tell them apart unless once again it's a custom paint job.
The EVO's have a little S-WORKS on the Top Tube, the Regular has a big one on the Down Tube,
  • 2 0
@pedalingbobby: Longer Fork is where they've got to be getting the slacker HTA.....
  • 2 0
@777MTBRider: Slacker hta and higher bb don’t come from the rear end. It’s because the evo uses a 120mm fork vs. 100 on the regular Epic.

Is Durango, CO the most winningest town in the world right now? Hell yeah, Riley!
