The Longhorn Cyclocross (CX) Series will continue in 2020 The series will consist of five races, with the awards cookout immediately following the final race. The series location will be the Chaparral Pavilion at the South Shore Entrance of the San Angelo State Park.
The Longhorn Cyclocross Series is conducted on cyclocross courses at the South Shore area of the San Angelo State Park. Cyclocross involves sand, dismounts and remounts over obstacles, logs, and up and down sections. The course is usually over a mile long on a loop and involves 6 laps for the course. There are usually more than enough cheering, bell ringing, and laughs to go around.
Cyclocross riding can be accomplished on a Cyclocross (CX) bike, Gravel bike, or (MTB) trail bike.
The categories will be Men’s A – CX/Gravel bike and Men’s A – Trail (MTB) Bike; Men’s B – CX/Gravel Bike and Men’s B – Trail (MTB) Bike. Women’s categories are CX/Gravel Bike or Trail (MTB) Bike. Easy to define differences are A is fast and B is not as fast.
The series this will be be $5 per race or $20 for the 5 week series. Registration will be available through Webscorer the week before each race however race fees will only be accepted at the event site and not through Webscorer. Awards will be presented to Top 3 finishers in each category at the end of the series and is based on top 4 finishes in the series. Racers will be awarded points for each race.
